  • New zion*st occupation bases in southern Syria amid UN inaction

zion*st occupation is rapidly expanding its military footprint in southern Syria, using the so-called “buffer zone” along the Golan Heights to impose new realities on the ground. zion*st Foreign Minister Gideon Saar recently made this policy shift explicit, tying any future agreement with Syria to the ongoing occupation of zionist forces not only within the buffer zone but also across the strategic Mount Hermon heights.

In recent months, the zionist military accelerated construction of new bases and seized former Syrian army facilities in the area. The latest development involves building a new base at Eastern al-Ahmar hill, near Kudna in Quneitra province, next to another base established at Western al-Ahmar hill in December 2024.

Tribal sources speaking to Al-Akhbar reported that Israeli occupation forces raised their flag over the new base last week and are “rapidly working to turn it into a key operational hub, adding that this escalation “alarmed local communities, who fear a repeat of recent destruction in al-Hamidiyah, Quneitra, where Israeli troops stormed into the area on the 17th of June and demolished 16 homes, citing their closeness to the base.” The sources further explained that “UN Disengagement Observer Forces (UNDOF), visited the site 10 days after demolition but only to assess the damage.”

Fear is spreading to nearby villages, including Maariya in rural Daraa, where Israeli forces occupy an outpost known as al-Jazira, which was subjected to repeated gunfire from unidentified attackers. Residents are specifically worried about “further demolitions and a displacement wave similar to the mass exodus that emptied much of the Golan Heights during the 1967 war.”

Moreover, Israeli forces started setting up a new military post near the village of Beer Ajam in Quneitra province. A resident told Al-Akhbar that “heavily armed soldiers, supported by armored vehicles and engineering equipment, positioned themselves near a watchtower in the area, fueling concerns that tighter movement restrictions for civilians are imminent.”

Elsewhere, in the majority Druze town of Hader, residents report a “surge in Israeli activity in northern Qurs al-Nafl area, where a second military base is reportedly under construction.” Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation completed the construction of a facility on Mount Barbar near Qalaat Jandal in rural Damascus, overlooking a strategic road leading to Mount Hermon’s peak. This site once served as a critical Syrian army route to key positions, including an observatory and the headquarters of the 24th Division.

In addition, Israeli occupation forces destroyed roads connecting several villages within Quneitra’s section of the buffer zone, prompting fear that the Israeli entity is “preparing to impose clearly defined borders, effectively isolating the area from the rest of Syria. Locals now face a stark choice: flee to nearby villages or live under Israeli occupation.”

Israeli military patrols have become a common sight inside southern Syrian villages, accompanied by repeated attempts to win over residents through the distribution of food and medical supplies, efforts largely rejected by locals. The latest occurred last Friday, when an Israeli patrol entered Abu Madrah farm near Saida al-Golan in rural Daraa.

These developments come after last week’s visit to Damascus by UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix, who met with Syrian Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra to discuss coordination with UNDOF. While describing the force’s role as “vital,” Abu Qasra condemned the Israeli military presence in the buffer zone as a “violation” of the “disengagement agreement,” which limits the area to UN peacekeepers. He also reaffirmed Syria’s support for UNDOF and expressed the country’s readiness to assume full security responsibility nationwide, including in UN-monitored areas, under international law.

Despite this, observers say UNDOF’s role has become largely symbolic. Since December 2024, the force has taken no concrete action against Israeli incursions or base construction and failed to protect residents from ongoing violations.

Tensions also mounted over the fate of 22 Syrians reportedly detained by Israeli forces in recent months. UNDOF declined local calls to pressure the Israeli entity for information. According to a resident of al-Hamidiyah, the village Mukhtar, who recently accompanied a UN patrol, was told by an officer that the “fate of the captives depends on broader peace negotiations, with the Syrian government, which needs to file a formal request for their release,” adding “The UN’s role would be limited to coordinating any transfer if Israel agrees to free them.”

US ends Syria sanctions program by executive order  granting reign to Jolani’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorist

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that Trump signed a new executive order ending sanctions on Syria and lifting the related national emergency, effective July 1. Rubio added that the administration is reviewing the Caesar Act and classifications of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and its former leader as global terrorists.

US State Department said remaining sanctions target individuals linked to serious human rights abuses, drug trafficking, terrorism, and weapons proliferation. Sanctions were lifted on multiple Syrian individuals, companies, and military units.

The Treasury Department removed those entities from its SDN List, allowing their assets within US jurisdiction to be unfrozen. A senior Treasury official said the decision will reintegrate Syria into the international financial system. Officials also confirmed that the executive order ends the state of emergency imposed on Syria since 2004.

    Al Akhbar

The US government, alongside the West had imposed crippling sanctions on Syria while under  Al Assad’s government, starving to death hundreds of thousands of people.

At the same time, the US had been stealing wheat, crude oil, and other treasury from Syria during the 14-year-old civil war.

While Trump eases sanctions, terrorist Jolani turns life to hell for Syrians by imposing blockades.

A sit-in is underway on the Syrian side of Jdeidet Yabous border crossing with Lebanon, as Syrian public transport drivers protest a government decision banning the entry of fuel from Lebanon. The protest has caused traffic congestion on the Syrian side, while the situation remains normal on the Lebanese side.

  • Iraqi criminal court gives death sentence to two over execution of top cleric Sadr

An Iraqi criminal court has sentenced two men to death for involvement in the execution of prominent Shia cleric Mohammad Baqir al-Sadr and his sister during the brutal crackdown of former dictator Saddam Hussein on religious dissent.

The Iraqi National Security Service announced in a statement on Monday that the court convicted Saadoun Sabri Jamil Jumaa al-Qaisi and Haitham Abdul Aziz Faiq of participating in the assassination, which also targeted members of the Islamic Dawa Party and other civilians.

The statement described the ruling as part of Iraq’s broader transitional justice efforts, adding that the agency had arrested the suspects and conducted investigations under judicial supervision.

Mohammad Baqir al-Sadr was a renowned Iraqi Shia cleric and political dissident in Iraq, known for his opposition to the former Ba’ath regime. His resistance grew stronger after the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, which exacerbated Hussein’s concerns about a potential uprising in Iraq.

As the then-Baghdad government clamped down on Shia activists in 1980, Sadr and his sister Bint al-Huda – a religious scholar and activist known for her vocal opposition to the Ba’ath regime’s oppression – were arrested.

They reportedly endured torture prior to their execution by hanging on April 8, 1980. Authorities declined to hand over their bodies, fearing their graves might serve as focal points for resistance.

Sadr is the father-in-law of the influential Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.

The execution of Sadr intensified dissent against Saddam, igniting movements that played a significant role in the eventual collapse of the Ba’ath regime.

  • Jolani’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists implicated in mass killing of Alawites

A Reuters investigative report revealed the involvement of Syrian General Security, elite units from former Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, and senior Defense Ministry figures in massacres that took place in Syria’s coastal region last March.

According to the report, around 1,500 members of the Alawite community were killed over two days, with dozens still missing. At least 10 armed groups, including factions now integrated into the new Syrian government, were implicated in the killings—some of which have long been under international sanctions for human rights violations, including killings, kidnappings, and sexual assaults.

Among units named are General Security (HTS’s main enforcement arm), the elite 400th Division, and Osman Brigade. Other militias, such as Sultan Suleiman Shah Division and Hamza Division, which recently joined government ranks, were also linked to the violence.

Reuters also reported a surge in kidnappings of Alawite women since March, with social media flooded by desperate pleas from families seeking information. The investigation found no similar reports involving women from other sects.

  • Souther Lebanon decries discriminatory practice,  nonchalance & absence of ‘Lebanes gov’ in he face of zion*st crimes

Lebanese Southern Labor Unions Demand Action Against zion*st Aggression, Criticize Government Neglect –

The Labor Union Federation in Southern Lebanon condemned the “suspicious absence” of state officials amid zion*st attacks, calling for a national emergency and full mobilization of diplomatic and material resources to confront the aggression.

They urged Lebanon to file a complaint at the UN Security Council, hold ceasefire sponsors accountable, and launch campaigns exposing zion*st violations.

The union criticized the government’s inadequate minimum wage, demanding it be raised to at least $1,000 with a cost-of-living allowance.

They also condemned reports excluding southern, Bekaa, and suburban residents from public housing loans, calling for urgent clarification to protect national unity.

    Al Akhbar

The so-called Lebanese government is engaged in disarming the Resistance in the Palestinian refugee camps and paving the path to disarmament of Hezbollah.

The ‘Lebanese Gov’ eyes the Abraham Accords , with that, the normalization with the arch enemy, that has committed multiple massacres in Lebanon since its illegal establishment.

Former Lebanese Minister and MP Mohammad Fneish:

    • “We reject any discussions on the Resistance’s weapons until Israel fully abides by the ceasefire deal, Lebanon regains all sovereign rights, and the occupation of Shebaa Farms and Kfar Shuba Hills ends.”

    • “The Resistance coordinates with the Lebanese state but won’t compromise on national rights. We oppose any foreign dictation, including from the US, on how Lebanon should protect itself.”

    • “Some local parties are aligning with US and Israeli agendas, harming Lebanon. They must learn from past mistakes and not become tools in the Zionist project.”

    • “The attack on Iran wasn’t just about stopping nuclear weapons—it aimed to break Iran’s will, weaken support for resistance, and enforce political outcomes favoring zion*st and the US.”

    • “Iran’s strikes were accurate and hit strategic Israeli sites. zionist colony is hiding the extent of its losses to avoid political and security backlash.”

  • Genocide enabler British Empire court rejects legal bid to stop F-35 parts exports to the zion*st colony

Despite claims of suspended arms licenses, the UK continues to supply thousands of arms shipments used in the z*onist colony F-35 warplanes during attacks on Gaza.

The UK High Court ruled on 30 June to reject a legal challenge seeking to stop the export of British-made F-35 fighter jet parts to the zionist entity, ending a 20-month legal battle.

The case, brought by the Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) and Palestinian rights group Al-Haq, argued that the exports risked enabling serious violations of international humanitarian law in Gaza.

In their 72-page ruling, Lord Justice Stephen Males and Mrs Justice Karen Steyn said the matter concerned “whether the UK must withdraw from a specific multilateral defence collaboration,” and concluded that such decisions fall under the remit of the executive.

“Under our constitution that acutely sensitive and political issue is a matter for the executive which is democratically accountable to Parliament and ultimately to the electorate, not for the courts,” the judges wrote.

Yasmine Ahmed, UK director of Human Rights Watch (HRW), said the ruling had left Palestinians in Gaza without legal protection.

“Judicial deference to the executive in this case has left the Palestinians in Gaza without access to the protections of international law,” she said. “The atrocities we are witnessing in Gaza are precisely because governments do not think the rules should apply to them.”

The challenge was initially filed in October 2023, weeks after Israel began its assault on Gaza.

Despite concerns flagged by the Foreign Office as early as November that year, the UK government allowed arms exports to continue.

In September 2024, the Labour government suspended 30 licenses but deliberately carved out an exemption for F-35 parts sent via a shared global pool. UK components make up 15 percent of each F-35. Israel has heavily used these jets in attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, and, more recently, Iran.

The government claimed that halting exports would disrupt the entire international fleet and jeopardize global security.

In January 2025, the High Court agreed to hear the case. “The F-35 carve-out decision is one of considerable public importance,” Justice Martin Chamberlain said at the time.

Canadian watchdog Project Ploughshares reported that the UK had delivered more than $6.7 billion worth of F-35 components to the US-led program.

According to Dr Iain Overton of Action on Armed Violence, “British-made components are helping keep Israeli F-35s operational, and the refusal to restrict their supply undermines international arms control efforts.”

Similar challenges have failed in other European states. On 15 December 2023, a Dutch court dismissed a lawsuit to stop the export of F-35 parts, citing the political nature of arms decisions.

“There is no reason to assume that Israel will stop excessive violence against the civilian population in Gaza,” the Dutch plaintiffs warned at the time.

Weapons factories across the UK that produce F-35 components have seen repeated shutdowns by demonstrators. In December, Belgian transport unions refused to transfer weapons to Israel.

“Genocide is in the making,” the Dutch lawyers told the court.

  • zion*st occupation forces abduct several people from southern Syria for ‘interrogation’

zion*st forces have abducted several individuals during a series of cross-border raids in southern Syria and taken them in for interrogation, says the military.

In a statement released on Sunday, the regime’s military said its forces had carried out multiple raids over the past week targeting what it described as “weapons warehouses” in the region.

It said that several people were detained during the raids and brought into the occupied territories for “detailed questioning.” The identities of those detained have not been disclosed.

The latest raids mark an escalation in Israel’s incursions, which have intensified since December 2024, when the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) militant group, along with other militant groups, seized control of Damascus and forced President Bashar al-Assad to leave the country.

Ever since, the Israeli military has advanced beyond the Golan Heights demilitarized buffer zone and occupied Mount Hermon and other strategic areas inside the West Asian country.

The regime’s military forces have also launched deadly airstrikes on the country, killing civilians and destroying Syrian army positions, vehicles, and ammunition.

Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has condemned the incursions, urging the international community to “take decisive steps to stop these recurring attacks” on Syrian soil.
