• Ahmad Manasra released from Zionist colony prison after decade of ‘torture, abuse’

Shortly after release ‘The Zionist colony issued a house arrest order for 23-year-old freed Palestinian detainee Ahmad Manasra until Sunday, with a financial bail set at 3,000 shekels’.

Zionist authorities released the Palestinian prisoner Ahmad Manasra on 10 April, who was detained at 13 years of age and has been in prison for nearly a decade.

Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that Manasra was “deliberately” let out far away from the prison gate where his family was waiting for him.

Manasra and his cousin were accused of stabbing two Israeli settlers in the Pisgat Zeev settlement in the occupied West Bank. His 15-year-old cousin was killed on the spot by Israeli forces while 13-year-old Manasra was severely beaten by settlers in the area and hit by a car, fracturing his skull.

Footage from before his arrest showed him bleeding on the ground while being cursed at by settlers.

Manasra was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison and subjected to many forms of mistreatment – including psychological torture and aggressive interrogations – before eventually being diagnosed with schizophrenia due to his time in solitary confinement.

His mistreatment worsened after the start of the war on Gaza in October 2023, as was the case with thousands of other prisoners.

Manasra’s lawyer told Al Mayadeen that he “was subjected to torture and solitary confinement that continued from 2021 until the beginning of the current war,” and “was subjected to all the methods and policies of abuse that prisoners were subjected to during the war.”

Zionist intelligence warned his family against any celebrations of his release.

A global campaign to secure his release gained traction over the last several years. “Ahmad Manasra’s release today is a huge relief for him and for his family, but nothing can undo the years of injustice, abuse, trauma, and ill-treatment he endured behind bars. Instead of releasing him on medical grounds years earlier when his mental health conditions significantly deteriorated, the Zionist parole committee invoked a provision in the abusive Counter-Terrorism Law to block his early release,” said Heba Morayef, Amnesty International’s regional director.

“Ahmad Manasra was interrogated at age 13 without a lawyer or parent present,” she went on to say, adding that he now must “be granted adequate access to the healthcare he needs in his native East Jerusalem without any discrimination and he and his family must be protected from any form of intimidation and abuse.”

The Zionist colony is the only ‘state’ in the world that prosecutes children in military courts, denying them fundamental fair trial rights and protections. On top of this, most of the confessions used to convict these children are allegedly obtained using coercion and torture.

As of November 2024, about 270 Palestinian minors were held in Zionist colony prisons, mainly in the Ofer and Megiddo prisons. This figure does not include those detained or kidnapped by Zionist forces in the Gaza Strip.

In September 2024, 85 of these minors were held under administrative detention, a practice that allows imprisonment without charge or trial, leading to potential indefinite detention.

Since 2015, over 9,300 Palestinian minors have been detained by Zionist ‘authorities’.

  • Zionist Attacks on South Lebanon Persist

The latest reports indicated that Israeli drones targeted excavators in Aita Al-Shaab border town, South Lebanon, knowing that the enemy’s drones roam Lebanon skies almost continuously in preparation for certain hostilities.

Zionist helicopters also raided a house in Yater town late Wednesday with two missiles after its owner received an evacuation warning phone call from the enemy that decided to attack it over alleged military activities inside it.

Circulated rumors about Israeli attacks on Yater caused panic among the locals in a new Zionist attempt to displace the inhabitants in parallel to what is taking place in the Zionist settlements for fear of Hezbollah.

Moreover, the Zionist army continued leveling lands and piling up earthen barriers in the five position it still occupies in South Lebanon.

The Lebanese army inspected Chouifat area where the enemy had claimed that Hezbollah is rebuilding a military facility that ended up to be a water supply project.

The Zionist enemy continues increasingly violating the Lebanese sovereignty as well as the UN Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement, launching more attacks on civilian targets in South Lebanon.

  • South Sudan’s Humanitarian Crisis Intensifies Due to Aid Cuts and Cholera

“Save the Children” warned of a worsening humanitarian crisis in South Sudan due to US aid cuts. Several children infected with cholera died while walking to distant clinics after many health centers closed. At least five children died in Jonglei State as seven of the 27 clinics supported by the organization were shut down, and 200 employees were laid off.

South Sudan is experiencing its worst cholera outbreak, with over 40,000 cases and nearly 700 deaths, half of them children under 15. The crisis has affected nine of the ten states, especially in eastern Jonglei. Chris Nyamandi, the organization’s director, called the situation a “nightmare” and urged global outrage over decisions that led to these deaths.

Nyamandi also warned that political tensions, including clashes between President Salva Kiir’s and Vice President Riek Machar’s forces, could worsen displacement and complicate medical aid delivery.

  • Sudan Accuses UAE of Genocide Ahead of ICJ Hearing

Sudan claims it has enough evidence to prove the UAE’s involvement in genocide against its people, ahead of an International Court of Justice (ICJ) hearing on the matter.

Government spokesperson Khaled Al-Ayser accused Abu Dhabi of supporting the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Darfur, fueling the genocide against the Massalit tribe. Sudan is seeking urgent action from the ICJ to halt UAE support for the RSF and compensation for war victims.

In response, an unnamed Emirati official dismissed the claims as baseless and part of a “propaganda stunt.” Sudan’s army recently regained control of Khartoum after intense fighting with the RSF, which has led to tens of thousands of deaths and displaced over 12 million people.

Yemeni army shots down US MQ-9 drone while conducting hostile mission in airspace of Jawf.

YAF targeted a Zionist military target in the occupied area of Yaffa using a “Yaffa” drone and attacked the US aircraft carrier Truman.

    First Statement

In response to the ongoing American aggression against our country and its horrific massacres against our people, during the past hours, the US launched a number of raids on various areas, resulting in martyrs, injuries, and damage to citizens’ properties.

With the help of Allah Almighty, our air defenses were able to shoot down an American MQ-9 drone while it was carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of Al-Jawf Governorate, using a suitable, locally manufactured missile.
This is the third drone our air defenses have successfully shot down in ten days, and the eighteenth during the battle of Promised Victory and Holy Jihad in support of Gaza.

The Yemeni Armed Forces affirm their continued support for Gaza and their continued implementation of their defensive missions to confront any aggression against our country.
They are fully prepared to deal responsibly with any attempt to undermine our sovereignty, security, and stability, and our operations will not cease until the aggression against Gaza stops and the blockade is lifted.

The UAV force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation targeting an Israeli military target in the occupied area of Yaffa using a “Yaffa” drone.

With Allah’s help and trust in Allah, the armed forces continue to confront the ongoing American aggression against our country.
In response to its crimes against citizens in several governorates, the Air Force carried out a targeted operation targeting a number of enemy warships, led by the US aircraft carrier Truman, north of the Red Sea, using a number of drones.

The armed forces, as they fight this battle with valor, defiance, and faith, reaffirm, as they have affirmed over the past years, that great Yemen is resilient and will not back down from supporting and backing the oppressed Palestinian people.
It will not surrender to the American aggression, and will remain, as it was, and will always be a graveyard for invaders.

We continue, with faith in Allah, to prevent Israeli navigation in the Red and Arabian Seas.

We will continue with trust in Allah to confront this brutal aggression, we will continue, with Allah’s help, to support the oppressed Palestinian people until the aggression against Gaza stops and the siege is lifted.

  • US war machine takes Yemen under 22 new attacks; 16 killed, injured in al-Hudaydah

The United States has launched 22 fresh deadly airstrikes across several governorates around Yemen shortly after subjecting the country to dozens of similar aerial attacks.
Yemeni sources reported the new assaults on Wednesday, saying they targeted the capital Sana’a and the central province of Ibb among other places.
In the capital, eight new airstrikes were reported, though no immediate casualties have been confirmed yet. The strikes are believed to have hit critical infrastructure, further disrupting civilian life in the city.
In Ibb, three airstrikes reportedly targeted the communications network in what appeared to be an effort to dismantle civilian sites and sever lines of internal coordination.
Tragedy in al-Hudaydah; children among fatalities
The most devastating toll, however, was reported in the western province of al-Hudaydah, where six civilians, including two children and a woman, were confirmed dead. At least 16 others were also injured, many of them critically.
Rescue teams are, meanwhile, still working to remove the rubble and search for survivors in the aftermath of the bombardments.
Human rights groups say the targeting of al-Hudaydah, a densely-populated city that also serves as Yemen’s main port and humanitarian lifeline, has raised serious concerns over the continued erosion of civilian safety and the flow of essential aid into the country.
The attacks took the overall instances of American aerial aggression towards the already impoverished country to some 50 within the past 24 hours.
Despite the United States own refusal to pinpoint the principal purpose of the escalation against Yemen that began last month, the aggression is widely viewed as a continuation of Washington’s broader regional policy in support of the Israeli regime and its brutal war of genocide on the besieged Gaza Strip.
In solidarity with Gaza, Yemen’s Armed Forces have been striking Israeli and Israeli-linked targets and American military assets in the Red Sea and beyond on numerous occasions.
Yemeni officials have described the operations as a legitimate response to the genocide, the US’s support for it, and the American assaults on Yemen itself.
Despite its vast firepower, the Pentagon has failed to prevent Yemeni missile and drone operations.

  • Zionist violations in Southern Lebanon continue

Zionist aggression persists in southern Lebanon, violating UN Security Council Resolution 1701, as several attacks were reported in Tuesday morning.

Zionist Drone Strikes Fishermen in Ras Al-Naqoura

A Zionist drone dropped a bomb on fishermen in the Ras Al-Naqoura area, continuing a pattern of intimidation and aggression. This attack, similar to one that occurred 48 hours earlier, targets Lebanese fishermen operating in sovereign Lebanese waters near the UNIFIL headquarters, which should be protected under international law.

Gunfire and Injuries in Mays Al-Jabal

Zionist forces opened fire on residents of Mays al-Jabal, wounding two individuals. The injured were taken to the Mays Al-Jabal Governmental Hospital, where their condition is stable.

Explosion in Kfar Tibnit Caused by Rocket Impact

An explosion occurred in the southern outskirts of Kfar Tibnit, initially thought to be caused by an Israeli drone strike. However, it was later revealed that the blast was due to a rocket fired into a waste disposal site, which caused debris to strike a home in the area, damaging the property.

In the Al-Qleila plain, the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL discovered two 107mm rockets hidden in an orchard. The rockets were found to be old and lacking the necessary components to be functional, contradicting claims of a foiled security operation.

It is worth noting that Israeli enemy drones continue to violate Lebanese airspace, challenging Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Despite Lebanon’s commitment to international resolutions, the Israeli enemy’s violations persist with minimal international accountability.

  • Smotrich dictates, ‘Not a single grain of wheat’ will enter Gaza, as 58 Gazans murdered in 24 hours

Zionist ‘Finance Minister’ Bezalel Smotrich has vowed to prevent the entry of all humanitarian aid into the besieged Gaza Strip.
“Not even a grain of wheat will enter Gaza,” Smotrich said in a statement to the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth.
Smotrich said he has prioritized the complete defeat of the Palestinian resistance movement of Hamas over the return of the Israeli captives.
Since March 2, weeks before the regime broke the ceasefire agreement with Hamas, it had closed down all the crossings into Gaza, and stopped the flow of humanitarian and medical aid.
On Tuesday, the heads of six UN agencies appealed to world leaders in a statement to act urgently in order to ensure humanitarian aid reaches Gaza.
“With the tightened Israeli blockade on Gaza now in its second month, we appeal to world leaders to act firmly, urgently and decisively, and to ensure the basic principles of international humanitarian law are upheld.”
The statement has been signed by the heads of the UN’s Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the UN’s children’s agency (UNICEF), the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS), the World Food Programme (WFP), and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Israel has also halted the flow of water from the Israeli company, Mekorot, to the Gaza Strip, blocking 70 percent of Gaza’s total water supply.
Gaza municipality spokesperson Hosni Mehanna has said the disconnection is from the main pipeline located in the Shujayea neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, where Zionist forces have been conducting a military assault since April 3.
The disconnection may have either been the result of direct military activity by the Israeli forces or due to a deliberate political decision by the regime’s authorities, he said.
“Regardless of the cause, the consequences are dire. If the flow of water from Mekorot is not restored soon, Gaza will face a full-blown water crisis.”
