• US-ZIONIST-controlled Lebanese Government up to the task?

    Hezbollah Unanimous:

We will not discuss the defence strategy until the attacks stop, prisoners are released, and reconstruction is underway.

Aoun previously expressed his goal for 2025 to be the year when all weapons are under state control, emphasizing that the decision would be addressed through bilateral talks with Hezbollah. Qamati, a Hezbollah MP said Hezbollah is open to discussions when the conditions are right and clarified that the party’s statements about defending weapons were a response to internal provocations.

Aoun mentioned that Hezbollah would not be integrated into the army like Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces but could join and undergo integration training similar to other groups post-war.

In the face of over 2000 Zionist ceasefire violations, including murder of over 170 people of Lebanon, destruction of infrastructure, extensive damage to agricultural sector, tens of thousands of bombed homes

while under the auspices of the so-called ‘Lebanese army’ and the good-for-nothing UNIFIL and the multinational peace committee,  the newly-elected low-profile general-turned-president Aoun cannot demand the Lebanese Islamic Resistance to lay down weapons and subordinate to a government that discriminates against its own people.

Before making any antenable demands, the Lebanese Gov must first prove it is up to the task of protecting the grace of southern Lebanon.

Iraq summons Lebanese ambassador over Aoun’s remarks on Popular Mobilisation.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry summoned Lebanese Ambassador to Baghdad, Ali Habbab, to express the country’s “discomfort with the statements” made by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to Qatari media, in which he addressed the role of Iraq’s Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF).

Iraqi Deputy Minister for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Mohammed Bahr Al-Uloom, stated: “Popular Mobilization is an important part of Iraq’s military-security apparatus. It is a legal government institution and part of the Iraqi state structure.” He added, “The Lebanese President’s comments in this context were inappropriate.”

According to Al-Akhbar sources, Lebanese General Security Director Hassan Shaqer contacted Iraqi officials to clarify President Aoun’s remarks, assuring them that “no offense to Iraq was intended.” Informed sources added that these communications “helped ease tensions and are expected to lead to direct talks between the Lebanese and Iraqi presidents to clear up the misunderstanding”—particularly after “media campaigns in Iraq portrayed the comments as an insult from a country that receives Iraqi support without giving anything in return.”

  • Saudi Arabia bombs Yemen border areas hours after intense US airstrikes

UAE-backed militias in southern Yemen are reportedly preparing a ‘ground offensive’ against Ansar Allah with the support of the US.

The Saudi military launched missile and artillery attacks on border areas in Yemen’s Saada governorate on 16 April, according to a report by Al-Masirah TV.

No civilian casualties were reported following the Saudi attack on the historic Ansarallah stronghold. The attack came a few hours after US warplanes launched multiple airstrikes on Saada’s Majz district and the Mefaa Anas district in Dhamar governorate.

On Tuesday, US warplanes launched over 25 airstrikes on the governorates of Al-Bayda, Hodeidah, Amran, and Saada.

Washington expanded its illegal war against Yemen on 16 March in an attempt to stop the Yemeni Armed Forces’ (YAF) operations against the Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, killing dozens of civilians across the country and destroying vital civilian infrastructure.

On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that UAE proxy militias in Yemen are planning a ground offensive to take the port city of Hodeidah from the YAF with the support of Washington.

“Private American security contractors provided advice to the Yemeni factions on a potential ground operation, people involved in the planning said. The United Arab Emirates, which supports these factions, raised the plan with American officials in recent weeks,” the report says.

US officials speaking with the newspaper said Washington has launched more than 350 strikes during its current campaign against Yemen. Nevertheless, the intense war has not managed to deter Sanaa’s pro-Palestine operations.

Officials from Saudi Arabia have privately said they will not join or help a ground offensive in Yemen.

In 2018, the Saudi kingdom launched three operations against Ansarallah in an attempt to capture Hodeidah, yet failed.

Ansarallah forces retaliated by launching ballistic missiles and drone attacks on Saudi cities, including striking a Saudi Aramco oil storage facility in Jeddah, which threatened to devastate the kingdom’s oil production and exports.

  • US intensifies bombing Yemen amid reports of planned ground invasion

The United States has carried out a fresh wave of airstrikes across multiple regions in Yemen, targeting various sites and infrastructure in the Arab country in the latest acts of aggression.

Yemen’s official Saba news agency, citing local sources speaking on condition of anonymity, reported that a US airstrike hit Mayfa’at ‘Anss district in the southwestern province of Dhamar early on Wednesday. No casualties were reported.

Earlier, American fighter jets carried out a series of airstrikes on Harf Sufyan district in the northwestern province of ‘Amran, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

Al Salem district in the northwestern province of Sa’ada was also hit by six airstrikes, while Kitaf wa al-Boqe’e district underwent four aerial raids.

At least three airstrikes were also reported east of Sa’ada city.

No immediate reports about possible casualties and the extent of the destruction have been released.

An airstrike hit the Az Zahir district of the central province of al-Bayda as well.

Kamaran Island in the Red Sea saw the heaviest bombardment, with at least 15 airstrikes reported by Yemeni media outlets.

The reports did not specify casualties or the extent of infrastructure damage resulting from the bombardments.

Meanwhile, militants backed by the United Arab Emirates are reportedly planning a ground offensive to take the strategic port city of Hudaydah from Yemeni Armed Forces and fighters from the Ansarullah resistance movement.

“Private American security contractors provided advice to the Yemeni factions on a potential ground operation, people involved in the planning said. The United Arab Emirates, which supports these factions, raised the plan with American officials in recent weeks,” the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on Tuesday.

The ground offensive seeks to take advantage of the recent US bombing campaign targeting military sites and infrastructure of the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF).

US officials speaking with the newspaper said Washington has launched more than 350 strikes during its current campaign against Yemen and claimed that the YAF has been weakened as a result.

Under the plan being discussed, factions of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) would deploy their forces north to the western Yemeni coast and try to seize the Red Sea port of Hudaydah, pro-UAE Yemeni sources said.If successful, the ground offensive would push the YAF back from large parts of the coast from where they have launched attacks on Israeli-linked ships transiting the Red Sea.

The WSJ warned that the move would exacerbate Yemeni conflict, during which Yemeni Armed Forces and their allies fought against Saudi- and UAE-backed militant groups.

“A major ground offensive risks reigniting a Yemeni civil war that has been dormant for years and that spurred a humanitarian crisis when a Saudi–Emirati coalition supported local ground forces with a bombing campaign,” the newspaper pointed out.

  • Scores of Alawites killed in new sectarian violence by HTS terrorists in Syria

The terrorists of the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham-led (HTS) administration have killed at least 42 Alawites during the past two weeks, a month after the massacre of approximately 1,700 members of the religious minority in Syria’s coastal areas.
The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that since the end of Ramadan on March 30, 42 Syrian Alawites lost their lives due to sectarian violence, with incidents occurring from Latakia to Tartus and extending inland to Homs.
Rami Abdurrahman, the head of the SOHR, noted that while the scale of the violence has shifted to individual acts, the killings have not ceased. “The killings did not stop, but now they are individual acts,” he stated, highlighting the persisting threat to the minority community.
Syria’s de-facto leader, former al-Qaeda in Iraq commander Abu Mohammad al-Julani has attempted to justify these brutal acts as “mistakes” occurring during a counterinsurgency operation against what his administration refers to as the “remnants” of the ousted Bashar al-Assad government.
However, Alawites in the affected areas express deep fear and confusion regarding this narrative, feeling increasingly isolated and targeted.
Adding to the community’s distress, the Britain-based monitor group reported a troubling rise in enforced disappearances and kidnappings, with at least 17 women and minors reported missing in recent weeks.
Activists have also highlighted that even those opposed to the Assad government have not been spared. Mohammed Saleh, a former political prisoner, said that 18 of his Alawite friends who opposed Assad were also killed in last month’s attacks.
Saleh emphasized the dire need for an inclusive national army and security agencies that represent all sects and religions, stating, “There cannot be a state for everyone when security agencies belong to one sect.”

The violence escalated dramatically on March 7, when gunmen loyal to the ruling administration conducted a brutal campaign of executions, targeting Alawite civilians. Militants reportedly went door to door, killing 1,700 Alawite civilians, including women and children, amid continuing incidents of murder, kidnapping and robberies.
Several videos have surfaced on social media, captured by members of Syria’s general security and directorate and HTS-led administration’s Ministry of Defense, depicting the horrific execution of unarmed Alawite men during the period from March 7 to March 9, with some victims subjected to humiliating treatment before their deaths.
In response to the public outcry, the HTS terror leader established a fact-finding committee on March 9, tasked with identifying the perpetrators and delivering a report within a month. However, the deadline was extended for an additional three months on April 11, raising skepticism among local residents about the sincerity of the investigation.
As sectarian tensions continue to escalate, the Alawite community finds itself in a vulnerable situation, with nearly 30,000 members having fled to neighboring Lebanon in search of safety from ongoing violence.

  • UK investigates ‘Islamophobic hate crime’ after 85 Muslim graves vandalized in Watford Cemetery

Hertfordshire Police say criminal damage, discovered by grieving family during visit to site, causes profound shock and distress across local Muslim community.

The UK Police on Tuesday launched an investigation into what is being treated as an Islamophobic hate crime after 85 graves, many belonging to babies and young children, were desecrated in the Muslim section of Carpenders Park Lawn Cemetery in Watford.

Hertfordshire Police said the criminal damage, discovered by a grieving family during a visit to the site, has caused profound shock and distress across the local Muslim community.

Extra patrols are being conducted in the area, and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Inspector Will Rogers-Overy confirmed that senior officers are working with community leaders to support affected families.

“In the coming days, we will engage further with the Muslim community, who will have been particularly impacted by this horrendous crime,” he said.

Wadi Funeralcare, which serves many Muslim families in the region, described the desecration as “heartbreaking” and said some of the graves were subjected to “unspeakable acts of disrespect.”

Carpenders Park Lawn Cemetery, while located in Watford, is owned and operated by Brent Council.

Council leader Muhammed Butt condemned the incident as a potential act of Islamophobic hatred.

“It looks as though Muslim graves have been targeted in what appears to be an Islamophobic hate crime,” Butt said.

“Our thoughts are with the families of those whose graves were desecrated. We will reinstate the damaged name plaques and restore the cemetery to a place of peace and remembrance as soon as the police investigation is complete.”

Abbas Merali, a Conservative councilor from Three Rivers District Council, called the vandalism “a barbaric act” and said it has caused “immense anguish to grieving families and profound hurt across our community.”
