UK investigates ‘Islamophobic hate crime’ after 85 Muslim graves vandalized in Watford Cemetery
Hertfordshire Police say criminal damage, discovered by grieving family during visit to site, causes profound shock and distress across local Muslim community.
The UK Police on Tuesday launched an investigation into what is being treated as an Islamophobic hate crime after 85 graves, many belonging to babies and young children, were desecrated in the Muslim section of Carpenders Park Lawn Cemetery in Watford.
Hertfordshire Police said the criminal damage, discovered by a grieving family during a visit to the site, has caused profound shock and distress across the local Muslim community.
Extra patrols are being conducted in the area, and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Inspector Will Rogers-Overy confirmed that senior officers are working with community leaders to support affected families.
“In the coming days, we will engage further with the Muslim community, who will have been particularly impacted by this horrendous crime,” he said.
Wadi Funeralcare, which serves many Muslim families in the region, described the desecration as “heartbreaking” and said some of the graves were subjected to “unspeakable acts of disrespect.”
Carpenders Park Lawn Cemetery, while located in Watford, is owned and operated by Brent Council.
Council leader Muhammed Butt condemned the incident as a potential act of Islamophobic hatred.
“It looks as though Muslim graves have been targeted in what appears to be an Islamophobic hate crime,” Butt said.
“Our thoughts are with the families of those whose graves were desecrated. We will reinstate the damaged name plaques and restore the cemetery to a place of peace and remembrance as soon as the police investigation is complete.”
Abbas Merali, a Conservative councilor from Three Rivers District Council, called the vandalism “a barbaric act” and said it has caused “immense anguish to grieving families and profound hurt across our community.”AA report

Martyrs reported as occupation forces strike Kuwait Hospital in southern Gaza
As the Zionist aggression on Gaza enters its 29th day, a growing chorus of voices from within the Zionist Colony is calling for an immediate end to hostilities. A petition advocating for the return of detained prisoners has gained traction, with thousands of IOF reservists and civilians joining the cause. This movement is particularly significant among air force reservists, including pilots, who are urging the government to halt the violence, even if it means negotiating concessions.
Reports from the Zionist newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reveal that the IOF is acknowledging the unrest among its ranks, with plans to engage in talks with soldiers who have signed petitions seeking peace. The army is reportedly concerned about the potential for protests to escalate further.
In stark contrast, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has firmly rejected a proposal from mediators that includes disarmament of their forces. A source within Hamas stated that they were taken aback by the suggestion, conveyed by Egyptian mediators, that any ceasefire agreement would hinge on negotiations for disarming the resistance. Hamas insists that any agreement must prioritize a complete cessation of hostilities and the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Gaza.
Discussions involving American mediators have also been underway, with Hamas expressing willingness to negotiate the release of nine prisoners. However, US officials are pushing for an increase in the number of prisoners to be released, complicating the negotiations. Hamas has deemed the American proposal evasive, as it lacks clear terms for transitioning to a ceasefire.
Meanwhile, the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has declared the crisis as the worst in the region since the conflict began, with severe shortages of medical supplies, food, and water. UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed deep concern following attacks on medical facilities, emphasizing the need to protect healthcare personnel and facilities under international law.In terms of ongoing Israeli war on Gaza, reports indicate a tragic increase in casualties, with over 17 Palestinians martyred in recent Israeli airstrikes. The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported staggering figures, with over 51,000 deaths and more than 116,000 injuries since the onset of hostilities on October 7, 2023. The situation remains dire, with many victims still trapped under rubble, as emergency services struggle to reach them.

Trump admin freezes $2.2 billion in Harvard funding, citing ‘antisemitism and leftist ideology’
The Trump administration announced it will freeze $2.2 billion in federal funding to Harvard University after the institution refused to comply with White House demands for policy changes addressing alleged “rampant antisemitism and leftist ideology” on campus – specifically regarding student activism criticizing Israel’s occupation of Palestine and its genocidal war on Gaza.
According to an initial administration letter, $9 billion in federal funding to the university had been under review, contingent on Harvard implementing specific reforms. These included:
– Ban student groups like Harvard Palestine Solidarity Committee and Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) that organize against what they term Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
– Bar students who support Palestine from federal programs.
– Implement ideological screening of international students to exclude those critical of US foreign policy.
The move represents the administration’s federal effort to suppress campus activism supporting Palestine.CNBC report

Renewed escalation: US conducts airstrikes on Yemen’s Ma’rib, al-Jawf Governorates
The United States has conducted more acts of aggression against Yemen by launching a new wave of airstrikes across multiple regions in the Arab country, targeting positions in the central province of Ma’rib and the northern province of al-Jawf, marking a renewed escalation in the ongoing conflict.
Yemen’s official Saba news agency, citing local sources speaking on condition of anonymity, reported that two US airstrikes hit al-Abdiyah district in Ma’rib province early on Tuesday. No casualties have been reported so far.
Residents described the airstrikes as very powerful and violent.
Elsewhere in the al-Hazm district of al-Jawf province, US warplanes carried out three raids. There were no details on casualties or damage caused by the attacks.
Late on Monday, the US military conducted 15 airstrikes targeting several sites across Yemen’s Ma’rib province.
The strikes hit areas in the Raghwan and Medghal districts. No immediate reports of casualties have emerged. In response to Zionist atrocities in Gaza and US-UK aggression against Yemen, the Yemeni Armed Forces have launched a series of attacks targeting Israeli, American, and British interests in the Red Sea and surrounding areas.
As the genocidal war against Gaza intensified, the Yemenis implemented a strategic blockade of key maritime routes, aiming to disrupt the flow of military supplies to their adversaries and exert pressure on the international community to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have said they will not stop their attacks until Israel’s ground and aerial offensives in Gaza end.PressTV report

Full-blown famine grips Gaza as 91% of population faces extreme food insecurity: NGO
The Palestinian NGO Network (PNGO) has said that Gaza has entered a full-blown famine as 91% of the population faces extreme food insecurity following Israel’s long genocidal war against the Palestinians there.
The Zionist colony is deliberately starving 2 million people — bombing bakeries, blocking food, and cutting off water. This is not a crisis. It’s genocide, PNGO said on Monday.
According to PNGO, 91% of Gaza’s population faces crisis-level food insecurity. 345,000 people are in Phase 5 — the most extreme stage of famine. 60,000 children urgently need treatment for malnutrition.
And 92% of children under 2 and breastfeeding mothers aren’t getting the nutrition they need. This means permanent, irreversible damage to an entire generation, the PNGO said.
This is not a natural disaster. It’s a policy of starvation — by design, it added.
Bakeries have been shut down. Food and medicine warehouses were bombed. Aid blocked at the border. Water desalination plant destroyed, the PNGO said.Even polio vaccines and nutritional supplements are being prevented from entering, it stated.
“The Israeli apartheid regime is intentionally preventing the entry of food, medicine, and fuel,” PNGO said.
This is the textbook definition of genocide — and it’s being backed, funded and supported by the US, it said.
PNGO has demanded the following:
Gaza be declared a famine zone
Sanctions on the Zionist colony
Safe corridors for aid
Suspension of all arms transfers — especially from the US and EU
War crimes prosecutions for Zionist leaders. The Zionist colony’s genocidal war on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has killed approximately 50,983 Palestinians, injured another 116,274, and displaced almost 2.2 million people.
The Zionist enemy has also imposed a blockade on free movement, which has led to severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine.PressTV report

US pro-Zionist strikes killed 123 Yemenis in less than a month: Ministry
Yemen’s Health Ministry says 370 civilians, mostly women and children, have been killed and wounded in strikes launched by the United States on the impoverished country in support of the Zionist regime.
On Monday, the ministry said the US strikes on civilian facilities in Yemen have killed 123 people and injured 247 others since March 16.
The ministry condemned the “blatant US aggression against the homeland and its targeting of civilian objects and civilians through direct bombardment”, including the attacks on a factory in the capital Sana’a on Sunday night.
Noting that six people were killed and 30 others wounded, including five children, in the attack, the ministry described it as “a full-fledged war crime” and “a flagrant violation of all international laws and conventions”.
It urged Arab and Islamic nations as well as human rights organizations to take to the streets to decry the US crimes against the Yemeni people.Since the onset of Zionist colony ’s genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, Yemeni forces have carried out scores of operations in support of the war-hit Gazans, striking targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to targeting Israeli ships or vessels heading towards ports in the occupied territories.
In support of the Zionist colony, the US announced the formation of maritime task force in the Red Sea in December 2023 to protect the passage of vessels bound for the Israeli-occupied territories.
The Yemeni forces responded by ramping up their strikes against strategic and sensitive Zionist and American targets, including the US warships and aircraft carriers that are deployed off Yemen’s coastline.
The Yemeni forces paused their retaliatory strikes in support of the ceasefire that took effect in Gaza on January 19, before Israel broke it in March.PressTV report
