Jolani in Time’s 2025 influential list amid sectarian killings in Syria –

Syria’s self-proclaimed president, Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, has been recognized as one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2025, even as Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) forces, under his leadership, continue targeting the Alawite minority in Syria.

His nomination, made by former US Ambassador to Syria Robert Ford, comes at a time when human rights bodies are sounding the alarm about sectarian violence in the war-torn country.

Jolani, once affiliated with al-Qaeda and Daesh, led HTS militants in their efforts to overthrow the government of President Bashar al-Assad last year.

Ford described Jolani as a figure who transitioned from militant commander to political figure, often forging alliances “at gunpoint” and securing Turkish support. However, Ford also questioned whether Jolani’s “moderate” stance is genuine or a strategic move for political gain.

Meanwhile, the HTS forces have been engaged in sectarian violence targeting Syria’s Alawite minority. Over the past two weeks, at least 42 Alawites have been killed, following the massacre of approximately 1,700 members of the community in coastal areas last month.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that these killings, which began escalating on March 7, have shifted from mass executions to individual acts of violence.During a brutal campaign, HTS forces reportedly went door to door, killing civilians, including women and children. Videos shared on social media show unarmed Alawite men being executed, with some subjected to degrading treatment before their deaths.

Jolani has attempted to justify these actions as “mistakes” made during counterinsurgency operations against what his administration calls the “remnants” of Assad’s government.

In response to public outrage, he established a fact-finding committee on March 9 to investigate the incidents. However, the committee’s deadline was extended by three months on April 11, raising doubts about the investigation’s credibility.

As sectarian tensions persist, nearly 30,000 Alawites have fled to neighboring Lebanon to escape the violence.

    Fake value systems.

When Al Ghazali understood the philosophers, he wrote one of his greatest books, The Inconsistency of the Philosophers, to show their errors and in particular that man cannot understand God by his reason alone.

On the intellectual level, Al Ghazali decisively defeated the philosophers who wanted to import Greek thought into Islam.

Among other things that the philosophers taught contrary to the Quran, was the idea that the universe was internal, and therefore God had not created it.

The argument he used is simple:
    1. Whatever begins to exist has a cause
    2. The universe began to exist
    3. Therefore the universe has a cause

By successfully refuting the argument of the Arabic philosophers in the eyes of his contemporaries, Al Ghazali permanently weakened the influence of Greek philosophical thought in the Islamic world.

  • Palestinian Hospital Chief ‘Exhausted from Torture’ in Zionist Prison: Lawyer

The lawyer of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, chief of Gaza’s Kamal Adwan hospital, has revealed that the doctor has suffered multiple broken ribs due to torture at the hands of Zionist interrogators.
According to Gheed Qassem, the torture was meant to force Dr. Abu Safiya to make false confessions that would be used against him.

Despite this, the doctor has refused to make any such confessions.

His lawyer also revealed that ever since his arrest, the Palestinian doctor has lost more than twenty kilograms, adding that he is suffering from arterial tension, cardiac arrhythmia, and vision problems.

Abu Safiya was abducted by Israeli forces during a raid on Gaza’s Kamal Adwan hospital in December 2024.

The Zionist colony has a long history of committing war crimes against medical workers, as well as attacks against healthcare infrastructure, including hospitals.

Last month, in violation of a ceasefire which had been in place since January, Zionist forces shocked the world when they killed more than 400 people in Gaza’s Christian Al-Ahli hospital.

The hospital had been bombed on April 13 during the Christian holiday of Palm Sunday.

Last week, Zionist forces also executed 15 paramedics and rescue workers in Gaza and then and buried them in a mass grave.

At first, the Israelis claimed that the paramedics had failed to use emergency lights on their vehicles. However, after video evidence proved that claim to be false, the Zionist Colony simply claimed that the paramedics were “Hamas” operatives.

The doctor who carried out the postmortems of the 15 paramedics and rescue workers has said they were mostly killed by gunshots to the head and torso, as well as injuries caused by explosives.

Another Israeli crime against medical workers also happened when Dr. Adnan Ahmad Al-Bursh, a Palestinian surgeon who worked with the Palestinian national football team, lost his life as a result of torture at the Israeli-run Ofer prison in the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Committee and the Palestinian Prisoners Club said in a joint statement that the head of orthopaedics at al-Shifa Hospital, the largest medical facility in the besieged Gaza Strip, died in what has been termed as “deliberate assassination” by the Israeli regime.

  • Nearly 200 killed in 2,740 US-BACKED Zionist colony violations of ceasefire with Lebanon

    To whom it may concern:

Lebanon’s information minister said that the Zionist colony ’s occupation of south Lebanon and its constant violations are hindering efforts to implement the ceasefire deal.

Lebanon’s Information Minister Paul Morcos said during a press conference after a cabinet meeting on 17 April that the Zionist enemy has violated the ceasefire 2,740 times since it was reached at the end of last year.

“Since the signing of the ceasefire agreement, 2,740  Zionist colony violations have been recorded, resulting in 190 deaths and 485 injuries … These violations hinder the Lebanese army’s ability to complete its mission,” he said.

He added that there is a “clear decision” to “extend sovereignty” over the entirety of the country.

When asked about the disarmament of Hezbollah, and whether it would be limited to the south of the Litani River or not, he said the “work is underway” across all Lebanese territory.

Morcos said all parties in Lebanon are cooperating, “but we face challenges and difficulties, including the continued Israeli occupation.”

The minister said that during the cabinet session, the mandate of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was extended.

“Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolphe Heikal informed the Cabinet that the army has carried out 2,500 operations alone, disposing of infrastructure, weapons, and ammunition, in addition to 2,500 other operations carried out in cooperation with UNIFIL forces,” according to ministerial sources cited by Al-Ghad TV.

The press conference came as Israeli drones carried out two attacks on southern Lebanon on Thursday, targeting the town of Umm al-Tut and the town of Aitaroun.

On Wednesday night, the Zionist Colony bombed a Hussayniya (Shia religious hall) in the southern town of Sheheen and two prefabricated homes in Zaloutiyeh. One person was injured. The Israeli army claimed it bombed “Hezbollah terror infrastructure.”

Earlier on 16 April, one person was killed in a Zionist attack on Wadi al-Hujeir, several hours after a strike on a civil defense center in Tayr Harfa.

On top of the non-stop attacks, Israeli occupation forces also remain positioned in five locations along the border in southern Lebanon, where they established themselves following the ceasefire deal in November 2024. This is aside from the Lebanese land that Israel has already been illegally occupying for decades, including the Kfar Shuba hills and Shebaa Farms.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem has said that while the resistance is giving the state a chance to end Israeli violations and occupation through diplomacy, it cannot remain silent forever and will be forced to act if diplomatic efforts fail.

Meanwhile, US pressure on the Lebanese government to disarm Hezbollah has escalated.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said while visiting Qatar on 15 April that he is working to ensure all weapons in Lebanon come “under state control.”

Hezbollah has said that its arms are an internal matter that it is willing to discuss with the Lebanese state within the context of ensuring the weapons are incorporated into a national defensive strategy aimed at protecting Lebanon from Israel.

According to a source cited by AFP this week, Hezbollah has coordinated with the Lebanese army in handing over to the state more than 100 military positions and sites south of the Litani River.

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) has also deployed more troops in the south in recent months in line with the ceasefire agreement, bringing the number up to 6,000 – with 4,000 others being recruited.

Hezbollah still retains some of its heavy weapons, including rockets and missiles, in underground bunkers in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese resistance movement says that it has rebuilt and restored many of the capabilities that were lost during the war with the Zionist Colony.

Aoun previously expressed his goal for 2025 to be the year when all weapons are under state control, emphasizing that the decision would be addressed through bilateral talks with Hezbollah. Qamati, a Hezbollah MP said Hezbollah is open to discussions when the conditions are right and clarified that the party’s statements about defending weapons were a response to internal provocations.

Aoun mentioned that Hezbollah would not be integrated into the army like Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces but could join and undergo integration training similar to other groups post-war.

while under the auspices of the so-called ‘Lebanese army’ and the good-for-nothing UNIFIL and the multinational peace committee,  the newly-elected low-profile general-turned-president Aoun cannot demand the Lebanese Islamic Resistance to lay down weapons and subordinate to a government that discriminates against its own people.

Before making any antenable demands, the Lebanese Gov must first prove it is up to the task of protecting the grace of southern Lebanon.
