Tribal groups affiliated with Jolani’s HTS launched a large-scale arrest campaign in the eastern and western countryside of Deir Ezzor on charges related to “affiliation with SDF”.
The campaign primarily targeted members of local tribes suspected of having ties to or supporting SDF.
According to reliable SOHR source, members from these tribal groups loyal to the caretaker government forces, backed by local militiamen, raided a number of homes in the villages of Gharanij, Darnaj, Al-Shuhayl, Abu Hamam and Dhiban in the Deir Ezzor countryside, arresting dozens of civilians who were classified as “collaborators” or “supporters” of SDF.
The sources confirmed that this campaign comes amid escalating military and security tensions following military operations carried out by caretaker government forces in several areas of northern and eastern Syria.
It is worth noting that the campaign has caused a state of tension and concern across the Deir Ezzor countryside.
