Speaking to Russia’s TASS news agency on Wednesday, an unnamed Iranian security source cited the cases of two girls fatally shot by armed mercenaries in the cities of Isfahan and Kermanshah.
The eight-year-old girl in Isfahan was shot in the stomach, chin, and back of the head while she was out shopping with her family, the source said, adding that the forensic analysis of her body showed Israeli military-grade bullets were used in the shooting.
The source also said that the second case involved Melina Asadi, 3, who was shot from behind by terrorists in Kermanshah on January 7 while returning with her father from a pharmacy.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has detained four children from the same Minnesota school district this month, including a 5-year-old boy.
Preschooler Liam Ramos was detained in the driveway of his home along with his father, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, on Tuesday. The father and son were then transported to a detention center in Texas.
Ramos is a student in the Columbia Heights Public School District in the suburbs of Minneapolis.
The district’s superintendent, Zena Stenvik, went to Ramos’ home after learning of his detention. She said Ramos and his father had just gotten home when they were detained and their vehicle was still running when she arrived.
“Why detain a 5-year-old? You cannot tell me that this child is going to be classified as a violent criminal,” Stenvik said.

Ramos is the fourth child in the Columbia Heights Public School District to be detained by ICE this month.
A 17-year-old student was also detained on Tuesday while walking to school. School officials say no parents were present at the time and that the armed and masked people who took the student were believed to be ICE agents.
Last week, a 17-year-old student and her mother were detained. Before that, a 10-year-old and her mother were detained. That child, who is in fourth grade, called their father to tell him ICE agents were bringing her to school, the school district said. The father came to the school to find his daughter and wife had been taken into detention and were being transported to Texas.

France’s Navy, working with intelligence provided by the United Kingdom, on Thursday intercepted an oil tanker in the Mediterranean Sea that traveled from Russia, in a mission targeting the sanctioned Russian shadow fleet, officials said.
French maritime authorities for the Mediterranean said the ship, the Grinch, is suspected of operating with a false flag. The French Navy is escorting the ship to anchorage for more checks, the statement said. The tanker departed from the city of Murmansk in northwestern Russia, it said.

The administration of US President Donald Trump is reportedly preparing a new regime-change push against Cuba, less than a month after the forcible removal of Venezuela’s president, relying on economic warfare and internal destabilization to break Havana’s political system.
Washington is seeking “regime change” in Cuba by the end of the year, according to US officials cited by The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, despite the long record of US failures against the island country and the risk of a humanitarian catastrophe there.
The officials said that their confidence rests on two developments, namely, a January 3 “surgical attack” that led to the abduction and ouster of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, and the belief that Cuba’s economy – long dependent on Venezuelan oil – is nearing collapse without him.
US intelligence analysts claim frequent blackouts and severe shortages of food and medicine, with nearly 90 percent of Cubans living below the poverty line. Despite this pressure, officials admitted there is no concrete plan to overthrow the Cuban government established after Fidel Castro’s 1959 revolution.

Talking to our correspondent, the head of the town’s municipal council Khader Saad, said at least 11 housing united were totally destroyed, with 75 being partially damaged.
Al-Manar’s Amin Shoumar reported heavy destruction in the southern town of Qannarit.
“Residents returned to their destroyed homes on Tuesday to inspect the damage, hoping to recover personal belongings,” our correspondent said.
Asked about the number housing units destroyed in Qannarit, the head of the town’s municipal council Zein Khalifeh said nearly 26 housing unites were totally destroyed, while 200 others were partially damaged.
Social Solidarity Both officials, Saad and Khalife hailed scenes of social solidarity in the two towns.
“Social solidarity in south Lebanon delivers one message to the enemy: We are invincible,” Saad told Al-Manar.
Our correspondents said that residents in the two towns – as well as other towns subjected to the Israeli attacks on Wednesday – opened their homes to those left without shelter.
Local organizations and volunteers coordinated efforts to provide temporary housing, food, and essential supplies, according to our reporters.

A Cuban detainee’s death inside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in El Paso, Texas, was ruled a homicide by asphyxiation due to restraint, according to an autopsy report that directly contradicts initial claims by federal officials.
The autopsy report, released Wednesday by the county medical examiner’s office, found that Geraldo Lunas Campos, 55, had been restrained by law enforcement agents and died from “asphyxia due to neck and torso compression.” The manner of death was classified as homicide.
A fellow detainee said on January 3 that he witnessed guards choking Lunas Campos, a father of four, to death at the notorious ICE detention center, which has faced longstanding criticism from immigrant rights groups.
The medical examiner reported signs of multiple blows to Lunas Campos’ head and neck, including burst blood vessels on the front and sides of his neck and on his eyelids, findings consistent with prolonged compression.
ICE officials, however, said Lunas Campos became unresponsive while being physically restrained. According to the agency, after restraining him, “staff observed him in distress,” prompting a call for emergency medical responders in an attempt to resuscitate him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, nearly three decades after entering the United States in 1996.
In contrast to the autopsy findings, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claimed that Lunas Campos’ death was the result of his suicide attempt.
A medical examiner’s classification of homicide does not itself establish criminal culpability, as it describes how a death occurred rather than assigning legal responsibility. Nevertheless, the ruling has intensified scrutiny of ICE’s use of force and its record of deaths in custody, particularly among Latin American migrants seeking asylum in the United States.
Lunas Campos’ family has insisted he was killed by detention center guards, citing witnesses who said they saw officers choke him.
Their attorney, Will Horowitz, said the family is preparing to file a wrongful-death lawsuit.
Horowitz said the family petitioned a federal judge to halt the deportation of two detainees who witnessed the death or events immediately preceding it. Both witnesses have since received deportation notices. The victim’s children asked the court to block the removals so the witnesses can testify in the wrongful-death case.
Lunas Campos is one of three people who have died while in custody at the El Paso ICE facility since it opened in August.
Francisco Gaspar-Andres, 48, of Guatemala, died on December 3, about two weeks after being hospitalized in El Paso. An autopsy determined he died from liver complications. Victor Manuel Diaz, 36, of Nicaragua, died on January 14. His death was classified as a “presumed suicide,” and the case remains under investigation.
In the meantime, demonstrators have been protesting against ICE after Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother of 3, was killed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, earlier this month.

Iran’s Security Council has released a report on the recent wave of foreign-backed terrorist riots across the country, saying that 2,427 people, including innocent civilians and security personnel, were martyred in a “full-scale atrocity” orchestrated by the US and zionist regime.
The statement said that 690 other individuals were killed during the riots, bringing the total death toll to 3,117.
According to the report, the height of the violence occurred on January 8 and 9, revealing an unprecedented level of brutality.
“According to the documentation in possession of the council, during these two days, a full-scale atrocity was carried out with the support of ill-wishers against the Iranian nation,” it said.
Terrorist elements engaged in “Daesh-style crimes,” including beheadings, stabbings, and burning individuals alive.
The attacks also caused widespread destruction with systematic assaults on bazaars, shops, banks, mosques, hospitals, ambulances, fire stations, clinics, and public infrastructure.
The council noted that the events began as peaceful protests by merchants and trade groups over economic difficulties, during which President Masoud Pezeshkian personally met with representatives to hear their concerns and instructed the police to exercise maximum restraint.
However, the report said that organized chaos cells intervened to prevent a peaceful resolution and shifted to targeted armed attacks intended to create mass casualties and destabilize urban centers.
“After this stage, on the 8th and 9th of January, various terrorist acts were carried out in parts of the country to push the situation out of control and destabilize the cities through maximum violence and coordinated armed attacks on public places and gatherings intended to cause casualties and destroy public and private property.”
Targeting social cohesion
Intelligence findings suggest this campaign was a direct response to the failure of the “12-day war” waged by the US and zionist colony in June last year.

The report emphasized that normal life has returned to the country, and that the “national unity of the Iranian people has once again imposed defeat on the enemies of Iran.”
