Jolani-led secret committee shakes down Syrian tycoons for $1.6bn.
The existence of the committee, led by Jolani’s brother and an Australian national, has not been announced publicly.

A secretive committee under Syria’s US-backed leadership has quietly taken control of over $1.6 billion in assets formerly held by businessmen linked to President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, according to a Reuters investigation published on 24 July.

The asset takeover, conducted outside public view, is part of an economic overhaul directed by Hazem al-Sharaa, the older brother of Syria’s self-appointed president, Ahmad al-Sharaa, formerly known as ISIS and Al-Qaeda commander Abu Mohammed al-Julani.

The government has not publicly acknowledged the committee’s existence, yet it wields sweeping influence over business and investment in the country.

The committee is headed by Abraham Succarieh, an Australian of Lebanese descent, who is known by several aliases, including Abu Mariam and Ibrahim bin Mas’ud. Succarieh, sanctioned in Australia for alleged terrorism financing, left Brisbane in 2013 shortly before his brother carried out a suicide bombing in Syria.

Sources told Reuters the committee has negotiated directly with sanctioned and unsanctioned tycoons, demanding that they hand over substantial parts of their wealth in exchange for immunity and permission to resume operations.

Among the most significant targets was “The Group,” a conglomerate of over 100 companies formed under Assad’s economic czar, Ibrahim, and estimated to control up to 30 percent of Syria’s economic output by 2024.

One key target was Syriatel, the country’s main telecoms operator, now controlled by the committee through a newly appointed signatory.

Cham Wings, Syria’s only private airline, was also restructured and rebranded as Fly Cham. Owner Issam Shammout surrendered 45% of the airline, paid $50 million, and transferred two aircraft to Syrian Air in exchange for immunity.

Business magnate Mohammed Hamsho, whose assets once exceeded $640 million, gave up 80 percent of his holdings under a similar deal. He retained about $150 million, while some family members maintained ownership of smaller companies.

Hazem al-Sharaa, who worked as a former PepsiCo manager in Iraq while his brother led Syria’s Al-Qaeda affiliate, now plays a central role in guiding these economic transitions. He holds no official position but reportedly has wide authority over Syria’s business affairs.

The consolidation of power in the hands of anonymous or foreign-born figures has raised concerns among diplomats and analysts. Four senior Western officials warned that such opacity could deter foreign investment and complicate Syria’s reintegration into the global economy.

Public sentiment inside Syria is tense. “It’s insulting to Syrians,” said protester Abdel Hamid Al-Assaf, who joined demonstrations against Hamsho’s return. “There is resentment in the Syrian street over the return of Assad’s businessmen or anyone who worked hand in hand with Assad.”

In 2022, Arabic media reports revealed that Sharaa and fellow leaders from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in the group’s stronghold in Idlib governorate invested hundreds of millions of dollars in Turkiye by seizing UN-delivered humanitarian aid shipments before later selling them on the black market.

According to a 2022 report by Sputnik Arabic, the leaders of HTS had enriched themselves by misappropriating international aid meant to help with the humanitarian crisis in Syria’s rebel-controlled northern region, where the extreme poverty rate stood at 97 percent.

Syria’s futile pleas for Turkish military assistance to combat “terrorist organisations,” including the ISIS.

Certainly, Jolani would not ask for support to fight his own kind.

For better understanding, the clashes of last week between Jolani’s HTS terrorists and the Druze community in Suwayda must be reanalysed.

The request follows violent clashes between Druze and Bedouin militias who are backed by Jolani’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists in Syria’s southern Sweida region last week that resulted in over 1,000 deaths, and precipitated further zionist intervention within Syrian territory.

Jolani’s HTS terrorists have done very bad things in Suwayda:

Doctors, nurses, and volunteers have stated that HTS militants targeted the Druze community at the main hospital in Suwayda, resulting in numerous killings.

“It was a massacre,” said Dr. Wissam Massoud, a neurosurgeon at the hospital. “The HTS troops came here claiming they aimed to bring peace, but they killed scores of patients, from the very young to the very old.”

The Britain-based Observatory gave an updated toll on Sunday of more than 1,120 killed since the violence erupted a week ago, including 427 Druze fighters and 298 civilians from the minority group, as well as 354 government security personnel [Jolani’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists] and 21 Sunni Bedouin.

Inside the city, where around 150,000 people live, residents have been holed up in their homes without electricity and water, and food supplies have also been scarce.

Recently, terrorist Jolani released the investigation report of the fact-finding committee regarding the massacres on Alawites in the Syrian coastal area.

Human rights experts said the report failed to hold the country’s security establishment [Jolani’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists] accountable.

However, the committee’s findings showed that after Assad loyalists launched the initial assault in early March, about 200,000 armed fighters from all across Syria moved into the coastal region.

One must imagine that there are far fewer Alawites or Assad loyalists in Syria than Palestinians in Gaza.

Furthermore, in the same fashion as the zionist colony, Jolani’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists maintain administrative detention or torture centres.

Neither the Western media nor the Sunnis or the rest across the world take notice of the savagery of Jolani’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists.

While the Alawite massacres had some repercussions on social media, the massacres on the Druze community have been in oblivion ever since.

Jolani’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists have taken control over the Syrian coast by brutally massacring the Alawites and sending to exile thousands more, only to  rule with an iron fist.

Unofficial estimates at the time said several thousand Alawite civilians, possibly up to 10,000, were killed. An investigation released by Reuters late last month confirmed the direct participation of Syria’s General Security in the massacres – The Cradle Media report.

The West and, particularly, the Sunnis, in their narrow-minded analysis, are not happy about the Druze having triggered further incursions and occupation by the zionist colony.

According to reports, the zionist colony bombed Damascus, Suwayda, and other parts of Syria over 300 times during that one week of clashes.

While the zionist colony openly claims that the airstrikes have been conducted in protection of the Druze, which may be partially true.

However, let us remember the zionist project of Greater “Israel”.

The ongoing invasion of Syria, since Al Assad’s fall, is a natural continuation of the zionist Plan Dalat.

In the absence of military force by Jolani’s HTS terrorists against the colony, the expansionists will continue expanding.

Jolani, alike, Turkey would never dare to confront the zionist colony and attract their main patreon’s, the United States, anger.

Turkey’s deal

Turkey is already training and advising Syrian armed forces [Jolani’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists] and told Reuters in June that it has no plans to withdraw Turkish troops currently stationed in Syria.

Having long supported Syrian opposition to Bashar al-Assad, Turkey has become a key supporter of Jolani’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists, which has emerged following Assad’s US/British/ Tukish-BACKED fall in December 2024.

However, Jolani’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists, despite their rough violence on display, have not been able to take over Suwayda in the same fashion they managed in the Syrian coast of Latakia against the Alawite community.

Turkey criticized the recent zionist interventions in Syria, including those near a strategic air base in the city of Hama, where the zionist colony has accused Turkey of exploring military interests.

“The bigger strategic problem in the region is the zionist colony’s attempt to invade the region,” Erdogan said on 20 July.

“zionist colony strives to set the entire region on fire, but Syria’s stance cautiously reined in this process,” he added.

However, Turkey has so far been hesitant to offer full-scale defence support to the Syrian government, holding talks in April with the the zionist colony over the establishment of a deconfliction line aimed at avoiding direct confrontation between the Turkish and zionist militaries.

A so-called ‘American-brokered ceasefire’ between zionist colony and Syria was announced by US ambassador to Turkey and special envoy to Syria Tom Barrack on 19 July.

Barrack told Associated Press earlier this week that the US has “no position” on a potential defence pact between Syria and Turkey.

Syrian officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

In conclusion, Jolani of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists invited the Turkish military in the fight against the Druze community in Suwayda.

However, Turkey maintains strong economic ties with the zionist colony, and there is also the Big Brother (USA) watching.

Naturally, Turkey will not want to risk these  well-established relations.
