  • Everything that blinks gold

Doctors Without Borders warns of the fate of thousands of civilians in El Fasher as massacres continue.

    Al Manar English report

The conflict was guaranteed to endure, being fueled by the country’s resource exports, especially gold, which became even more lucrative than before the fighting began. These exports funded a constant flow of advanced weaponry for both sides, all while 25 million Sudanese people are facing acute food insecurity.

To their great misfortune, this battle for power and resources has been inflamed and sustained by the intervention of regional powers, which have turned Sudan into a proxy battleground for their rivalries. General al-Burhan, a member of the traditional ruling elite class, has received support from Egypt, under Field Marshal Abdel Fattah el-Sissi, and from Saudi Arabia. His opponent, who hails from Darfur tribes, which are often marginalized in ruling circles, has benefited from decisive military aid supplied by the United Arab Emirates, led by Mohammed bin Zayed.

  • Worsening Humanitarian Crisis Sparks Unprecedented Protests in Southern Occupied Aden

Saudi- UAE occupied Aden is facing a mounting wave of public unrest as a severe collapse in living conditions and essential services fuels widespread anger against the internationally-recognized government and its local authorities.

Protests have escalated in recent days, with hundreds of women taking to the streets to demand the provision of basic necessities such as food, electricity, and potable water, alongside calls for social justice, payment of salaries, and healthcare.

According to a report by The New Arab, the deteriorating situation in Aden is the result of a decade of war, a de facto blockade, and institutional collapse. The report alleges that these factors have deepened corruption in southern and eastern provinces. It further claims that over past years, the Khor Maksar district has witnessed campaigns of assassination, arrest, kidnapping, and extortion by UAE-backed STC-aligned forces, targeting activists, journalists, and lawyers critical of the de facto authorities.

One activist participating in the demonstrations told the news site, “Our state is unbelievably corrupt… We took to the streets today as we did yesterday, and we will continue to protest until our legitimate demands are met.”

The current women-led protests follow earlier demonstrations by men, which were met with suppression and arrests. In response, local militia in Aden have reportedly formed a female police unit, trained with direct support from Abu Dhabi in recent years, to disperse women’s gatherings.

Eyewitnesses reported that these female security forces, affiliated with the STC, used violence against the demonstrators, preventing them from reaching the protest square. They also carried out pursuits and arrests in several neighborhoods in an attempt to contain the protests and prevent them from spreading.

Observers note that these developments reflect an unprecedented level of public frustration in Aden and occupied southern provinces, driven by a worsening economic crisis, the collapse of the local currency, soaring prices, and prolonged power outages.

Experts warn that the continuation of corruption and exclusionary policies by the Saudi-backed government and the UAE- backed STC could trigger wider unrest in Aden and other southern regions. This is exacerbated by a widespread public perception that officials live abroad with their families, enjoying dual privileges and foreign nationalities, while ordinary citizens are left to face poverty, unemployment, and a near-total absence of public services.

Analysts confirm that Aden, once known as the “Bride of the Arabian Sea,” has become a symbol of escalating human suffering and political turmoil, with no clear path in sight to rescue the city from collapse.

Southern governorates in Yemen have been under the occupation since the US-Saudi aggression was waged in 2015. The southern port city of Aden serves as the temporary headquarters of the Saudi-backed Yemeni government. However, power in the south is contested by the Southern Transitional Council (STC), a secessionist group backed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is a key member of the coalition. This has created a fragmented and often chaotic governance structure in and around Aden.

  • Documents Reveal Germany Coordinated ICJ Testimony on Arms Exports with zion¿st colony

Internal documents obtained by Drop Site and Stern show that the German government coordinated its testimony with zion¿st colony before testifying before the ICJ at The Hague in April 2024. They cast doubt on the completeness of that account. The representative back then said the Bundeswehr had not supplied weapons or ammunition to zion¿st colony since 2023, claiming “the only items supplied by the German Bundeswehr to Israel are medical supplies and helmets.”

A document from the German Ministry of Defense dated January 29, 2025, states the government decided, “in agreement with the affected entity,” to “disclose details beyond those in the arms export report” for the hearing.

Another letter dated January 15, 2025, further states “the differentiated information on Bundeswehr exports,” which was requested in the lawsuit, was “not disclosed in the proceedings before the ICJ.”

  • More zion¿st Violations, Attacks on South Lebanon Recorded Saturday

zion¿st enemy continued on Saturday its violations of the Lebanese sovereignty and attacks on the civilians on South Lebanon, breaching the ceasefire agreement which took effect on November 27, 2024, on the basis of the UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

In this context, zionist enemy’s drone launched an air raid on Kfarsir town, South Lebanon, injuring one civilian.

Earlier, a zionist glider dropped a sound bomb on Ras Al-Naqoura coast.

  • Calls Grow for Ban on Arms Sales to UAE Over Role in Sudan Massacres

Calls have mounted in the US and Britain for a ban on weapons exports to the United Arab Emirates over the Persian Gulf country’s military support for a militia group involved in extrajudicial killings in Sudan’s Darfur region.

The demands came after Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militants took control of the city of el-Fasher on October 26 and carried out serious human rights violations against people fleeing the North Darfur’s capital.

US Senator for Maryland Chris Van Hollen said, “As we witness horrific scenes in el-Fasher, the UAE continues arming the RSF — which the US has determined is committing genocide. Enough. We must pass my bill to block arms sales to the UAE until it stops fueling the RSF’s war crimes in Sudan.”

Similarly, US House Representative Gregory Meeks called for the passing of legislation he introduced aimed at cutting off American arms sales to the countries that back the RSF.

“This is unacceptable. My Sudan legislation would cut off US defense sales to external actors funding the conflict in Sudan. It’s also why I will continue holding all major US arms sales going to the UAE while it continues to arm the RSF. The US must do all we can to help end this devastating conflict,” he noted.

Meanwhile, British lawmaker Monica Harding described as “horrific” the possible use of UK weapons in Sudan war crimes.

“The UK must cease all arms sales to the UAE immediately until we can confirm, without a doubt, that no British weapons are going via the UAE to the RSF,” she said.

In 2023, the conflict broke out between the Sudanese army and the RSF.  It has created one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, killing an estimated 150,000 people and displacing 11 million from their homes.

Reports said the UAE has been secretly providing arms to the RSF through a complex network of supply lines stretching across Libya, Chad, Uganda and breakaway regions of Somalia, a charge Abu Dhabi denied.

The UAE’s military support of the RSF is driven by a desire to extract agricultural crops and precious metals, particularly gold, from Sudan, reports added.

Sudan’s Ambassador to the UK Babikir Elamin denounced the UAE’s support for the RSF as “the single most important element in prolonging and enabling this genocide.”

He also called on London to “investigate” reports that its weapons and equipment were being used by the RSF to carry out “heinous atrocities.”

Meanwhile, social media users called for people to cancel trips to the UAE and boycott Emirati-based companies and products.

Some of the online users compared the UAE-backed RSF’s atrocities in Sudan to Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian journalist Hind Khoudary, currently based in Gaza, said in an X post that she had planned to visit her father’s grave in the UAE but had chosen to boycott the country.

  • Colombian President struggles to access salary after US sanctions: lawyer

Colombian President Gustavo Petro is struggling to receive his salary after being placed under US sanctions, his lawyer Daniel Kovalik told AFP on Thursday.

The sanctions, imposed by President Donald Trump, also target Petro’s wife, son, and interior minister, accusing them of failing to curb drug trafficking. The measures freeze their assets in the US, block transactions with US-linked companies, and have led to frozen bank accounts and credit cards.

Kovalik said the restrictions have made it difficult for Petro and his officials to get paid as public servants, adding that even a US-affiliated company in Spain refused to refuel the presidential plane.

Kovalik plans to challenge the sanctions before US courts and the Treasury Department, describing the process as “long and protracted.” He argued that Petro has fought drug cartels throughout his career and is being punished for opposing US foreign policy, calling the move a warning to leaders who defy Washington’s agenda.

The Colombian leader has also spoken out forcefully against Israel’s genocide in Gaza and taken concrete measures against Tel Aviv.

The lawyer added that any entity working with Petro could face secondary sanctions, underscoring what he described as a politically motivated campaign.

  • Citizen Martyred, Other Injured in Fresh zion¿st Attack on South Lebanon

A Lebanese citizen was martyred and another was injured on Friday as the z¿onist enemy went ahead with attacks on south Lebanon in violation of the ceasefire which ended the brutal zionist 66-day war on Lebanon in late 2024.

Al-Manar correspondent in south Lebanon reported a zionist drone strike on motorcycle in the town of Kawneen.

Later on Friday, the Lebanese Health Ministry said the strike on Kawneed killed a citizen and injured another.

The attack on Friday followed a flagrant incursion into Lebanese territories on Thursday, in which zionist enemy forces crossed the border into the town of Blida and executed a municipal worker, Ibrahim Salameh, at the town’s municipality headquarters.

The enemy forces also blew up the Husseiniyah building at the nearby Adaisseh village during Thursday’s incursion.

The Israeli enemy also staged a series of airstrikes in several areas across south Lebanon, according to our reporters.

The zionist enemy continues to bomb Lebanon, mainly the country’s south, almost daily and maintains occupation over five posts along the southern border, in violation of a ceasefire deal reached following a brutal 66-day zionist war between September and November 2024.

In addition to the zionist violations, the Lebanese State has been subjected to unprecedented pressure by the United States, the first sponsor of the Zionist entity, to disarm Hezbollah.

  • Sudan envoy demands action as El Fasher soaks in blood

UAE-backed RSF militants share a video on social media celebrating their massacre of civilians in El-Fasher, Sudan.
    https://t.me/presstv/162894

Sudanese Ambassador to Tehran Abdulaziz Hassan Saleh has stated that the city of El Fasher represents “one of the most tragic chapters in modern Sudanese history,” calling for the international community to take effective action to halt the atrocities.

He said Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are “deliberately starving residents to weaken them and set the stage” for organized massacres amounting to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

Saleh further criticized the international community’s inaction towards the matter, calling for international communities, human rights organizations, and the media to avoid mere issuance of statements and take effective action to stop the hostilities and guarantee humanitarian access.

“Unfortunately, the silence or slow reaction of parts of the international community and regional institutions played a significant role in encouraging these rebel forces,” he said.

The Sudanese ambassador affirmed his government’s firm commitment to “preserve the country’s unity and use all legitimate means to defeat these rebel groups.”

He called for the international prosecution of all those backing, financing, or supporting the forces — including governments, individuals, and organizations both inside and outside Sudan.

El Fasher has now become a focal point of global attention following a serious escalation in the Sudanese crisis, entering a new phase of violence and displacement.

On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei expressed concern over the armed clashes in El Fasher, the center of North Darfur state, and condemned the destruction of infrastructure and the killing of innocent people in the city.

He warned against certain dangerous movements aiming for the re-disintegration of Sudan and emphasized the necessity of respecting Sudan’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Following the siege of some 1.2 million people for 18 months by the RSF, the group claimed to have seized the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF)’s last stronghold in El Fasher in northern Darfur on Sunday, as the United Nations issued a stark warning over reports of atrocities by the RSF.

The UN Security Council (UNSC) previously issued Resolution 2736 in June 2024, demanding the lifting of the siege on El Fasher and the provision of humanitarian access to civilians, but failed to secure full implementation of the resolution.

Reports from the Sudan Doctors Network (SDN) and other sources indicate that the RSF has been responsible for summary executions, mass killings—including the alleged targeting of patients and staff inside the Saudi Hospital—and sexual violence against women and girls.

Some 2,000 people had been killed by Wednesday, according to the Sudanese Armed Forces.

Furthermore, More than 26,000 people have fled El Fasher in just two days, the UN said. Those who attempt to flee are reportedly pursued and killed by the RSF forces, as the group controls city entrances.

Using satellite imagery and remote-sensing data, Yale’s Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL) reported that clusters of objects and ground discoloration are evidence of human bodies and pools of blood. The clusters and discoloration were not present in images taken before the RSF invaded, the report noted.

Sudanese authorities have repeatedly said the RSF enjoys unconditional support from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with Khartoom taking legal action against the country at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in April.

A report by British daily newspaper The Guardian on Tuesday revealed that British-made weapons and military equipment are being supplied by the UAE to militants from the RSF.

According to Khartoum-based writer and strategic affairs analyst Makkawi Elmalik, what is happening in Sudan “is not a regular military battle, but a systematic extermination committed by the RSF, supported by the UAE and Israel,” he said.

Elmalik added that both the UAE and the Israeli regime have participated in planning the militia’s attacks on civilians in the Sudanese city and provided them with weapons and intelligence.

Concurrent with the RSF’s incursion into El Fasher, the American media outlet The Wall Street Journal also reported that the UAE is supplying the group with weaponry.

The RSF’s claim of full control over the SAF’s last stronghold in El Fasher is disputed by the Sudanese military forces.

The fate of the city remains unclear as the fighting continues, with combat still underway inside the city.

In 2023, a conflict broke out between the Sudanese army and the RSF, which has since resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands, displaced over 12 million people, and led the International Rescue Committee to characterize it as “the largest humanitarian crisis ever documented.”

    PressTV report

More than 2,000 civilians were killed, according to analysis by Yale University, after the army’s withdrawal from the city of El Fasher – leaving more than a quarter of a million people, half of those children, under the control of the paramilitaries. Analysis of aerial images of the city’s Daraja Oula neighbourhood show “clustered of objects consistent with the size of human bodies” and “reddish ground discolouration”, according to analysts from the Yale School of Public Health’s Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL).

  • Trump Orders US War Department to Immediately Resume Nuclear Weapons Testing Amid Atomic Arms Race Fears

US President Donald Trump has instructed the country’s Department of War to immediately resume testing nuclear weapons in a decision that has alarmed disarmament advocates and global security experts.

Posting on his Truth Social platform on Thursday, Trump said he had issued the order “because of other countries testing programs.”

“That process will begin immediately,” he added.

The US president described Russia and China as respectively the second and third biggest nuclear armed powers in the world, alleging that if Washington did not resume the testing, the countries would catch up with it “within five years.”

The testing process is expected to provide data on how new warheads function and whether aging stockpiles remained reliable.

Trump’s remarks marked the most direct US call for renewed nuclear testing since Washington conducted its last live detonation in 1992.

Critics have warned that reviving live tests could destroy decades of painstaking non-proliferation efforts and invite a cascade of retaliatory tests worldwide, eroding the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT).

The United States opened the nuclear era in July 1945 with the detonation of a 20-kiloton bomb at Alamogordo, New Mexico, and weeks later resorted to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The latter catastrophe has etched Washington’s name in history as the only party in the world to ever actually deploy the non-conventional arms.

Observers say Trump’s Thursday move threatens to undo efforts by generations of global leaders to ensure the tragedy would never be repeated.

They have also warned about potential efforts by the Israeli regime, the US’s closest ally in West Asia and the only possessor of nuclear arms in the region, to try to justify further enhancing its deadly nuclear arsenal using the knowhow, which is to be acquired by Washington from the tests.

Trump, however, alleged that he “HATED” to issue the order “because of the tremendous destructive power,” but “had no choice!” because of his self-proclaimed fear of other nuclear armed powers’ catching up with Washington.

Last year, a report revealed that the United States planned to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on modernizing its nuclear arsenal.
