Deadly violence grips the Libyan capital
The clashes first erupted on Monday following the killing of major militant chief Abdelghani al-Kikli and the sudden defeat of his Stabilization Support Apparatus (SSA) group by factions aligned with Dbeibeh.
The following day, the UN-recognized government said it had begun asserting control. A ceasefire also came into effect across Tripoli on Wednesday.
However, witnesses and local media reported a resumption of the fighting.
The UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) called for calm, warning that the situation could “spiral out of control”.
“Attacking and damaging civilian infrastructure, physically harming civilians, and jeopardizing the lives and safety of the population may constitute crimes under international law. Those responsible will be held accountable for their actions,” it added.Libya has been embroiled in a political conflict since long-time ruler Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown in 2011, leading to the emergence of several armed groups.
Despite a 2020 ceasefire, the country remains divided, with the Government of National Unity ruling in Tripoli and the country’s northwest and the Government of National Stability ruling in Benghazi in the east.PressTV report

Qatar Airways signs deal for 160 Boeing jets during Trump visit
State carrier Qatar Airways signed a deal on Wednesday to purchase jets from U.S. manufacturer Boeing during President Donald Trump’s visit to the Gulf Arab country.
Trump said the deal was worth $200 billion and included 160 jets. Trump and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani witnessed the signing ceremony in Doha.Trump said Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, who signed the deal with Qatar Airways CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer next to Trump and the Qatari emir, told him “it’s the largest order of jets in the history of Boeing, that’s good”.
Trump added: “It’s over $200 billion but 160 in terms of the jets, that’s fantastic. So that’s a record, Kelly, and congratulations to Boeing. Get those planes out there, get them out there.”The deal was signed during Trump’s second stop on a tour of Gulf states after he struck a string of deals with Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
It’s not clear which Boeing aircraft models would be part of the deal and whether the orders from Qatar are firm, which require a deposit and several contractual obligations, or are options.
Boeing no longer issues catalogue prices but based on the most recent published value for its most expensive jet, the 777X, a deal for 160 of the long-range aircraft would be worth some $70 billion. Aviation analysts say that airlines typically get large discounts for bulk deals.Boeing was not immediately available for comment. Qatar Airways did not immediately respond to a request for clarification or comment.

Yemen launches the third ‘hypersonic’ strike on ‘Tel Aviv’ airport in 24 hours
Yemeni Armed Forces have carried out a fresh missile attack against the Zionist colony, setting off sirens in the northern part of the Zionist-occupied territories.
Military spokesman Yahya Saree said they launched a hypersonic ballistic missile at the Ben Gurion airport near Tel Aviv on Wednesday in solidarity with Gazans amidst the Zionist colony’s bloody onslaught on the besieged territory.
The missile hit its target “successfully,” forcing millions of Israelis to flee to shelters and halting air traffic at the airport for nearly an hour, he added.“The Yemeni Armed Forces’ operations aim to end the aggression against our steadfast and patient people in the Gaza Strip, to end the war of extermination, and to end the ongoing massacres against them, which continue up to this moment, in full sight of the entire world,” Saree said.
“The Yemeni Armed Forces reiterate their affirmation that these operations are ongoing and will not be ceased until the aggression against Gaza stops and the blockade is lifted,” he added.
The Yemeni official further called upon “all members of the nation to stand up honorably in rejection of the genocide against their people and in rejection of starvation and blockade.”
This is the third missile attack in less than 24 hours targeting the Israeli regime’s busiest and most important airport, Ben Gurion.
The Israeli military later confirmed the missile attack, claiming that it had intercepted the rocket.
“Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted,” it said in a statement. On Tuesday evening, Yemen’s missile force also struck Ben Gurion airport using a projectile of the same type.
Yemeni Armed Forces started their military operations against the Israeli regime in late 2023 shortly after the regime started taking the Gaza Strip under a genocidal war that has so far claimed the lives of more than 52,900 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
Over all, hundreds of such strikes have taken place throughout the course of the war, targeting strategic and sensitive sites across the occupied territories.PressTV report

Zionist strikes on hospital kill wounded journalist & nearly 30 others in the hospital court yard

The number of martyred journalists has risen to 215 following the assassination of journalist Hassan Aslih. RNN Zionist colony airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday killed a well-known Palestinian journalist whom it alleged to work with Hamas and was recovering in hospital from an earlier strike, the territory’s health ministry said.
The Zionist colony has accused Hassan Aslih, who has hundreds of thousands of followers on social media platforms, of taking part in the October 7, 2023 attack by Palestinian militant group Hamas that triggered the war in Gaza.
It has said Aslih documented and uploaded footage of “looting, arson and murder” during the Hamas-led incursion into the occupied territories.
Ahmed Siyyam, a Gaza civil emergency service member, told Reuters the attack hit the third floor of a Nasser Hospital building in the southern city of Khan Younis, where dozens of patients and injured were being treated.
Two patients, including Aslih, were killed and several others were wounded, the health ministry said.Later on Tuesday, the Gaza health ministry also said nine missiles slammed into and around the courtyard of the Gaza European Hospital in the south of the enclave, killing at least 16 people and wounding 70 others.
Israel’s military said it hit a “Hamas command center” beneath the hospital. Hamas denies exploiting hospitals and civilian properties for military purposes.
In a separate statement about the Nasser Hospital strike, the Israeli military said it “eliminated significant Hamas terrorists” in Nasser Hospital, among them Aslih, who it said had “operated under the guise of a journalist”.HEAVY DAMAGE
Reuters footage showed heavy damage to one of the Nasser hospital buildings, including to the medical equipment and beds inside.
“I came to the hospital not knowing whether to mourn the martyrs, treat the patients and injured, or deal with the staff who no longer feel safe,” said Atef Al-Hout, director of Nasser Hospital.
According to the International Federation of Journalists, at least 160 journalists and media workers have been killed in Gaza since the start of the war.Officials in Gaza, where Hamas took control in 2007, put the number at 215, and accuse Israel of deliberately targeting journalists. Israel denies this and says it tries to avoid harm to civilians.
Aslih headed the Alam24 news outlet and worked as a freelance photojournalist. He had previously worked with several Western news organizations. He was wounded last month in a deadly strike on a tent in the Nasser hospital compound.Reuters report

US and Saudi Arabia sign €127 billion arms deal on first day of Trump’s regional tour
That agreement will see Washington provide Riyadh with ‘state-of-the-art warfighting equipment’ in return for a Saudi investment of $20 billion in the US’ artificial intelligence sector.
US President Donald Trump signed a host of economic and bilateral cooperation agreements in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday at the start of his four-day Middle East tour.
The aim of his trip to the oil-rich kingdom was dealmaking, and Trump has already secured a $142 billion (€127 billion) defence agreement with the country’s de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

That agreement will see Washington provide Riyadh with “state-of-the-art warfighting equipment” in return for a Saudi investment of $20 billion (€17 billion) in the US’ artificial intelligence sector.
In total, the two leaders signed more than a dozen agreements to increase cooperation between their governments’ militaries, justice departments and cultural institutions.Additional economic agreements are expected to be inked later on Tuesday at a US-Saudi investment conference, which has been put together to coincide with Trump’s visit.
Bin Salman already committed to $600 billion (€537 billion) in new Saudi investment in the US, but Trump teased $1 trillion would be even better.
“I really believe we like each other a lot,” Trump said on Tuesday while sitting next to the crown prince at the start of their bilateral meeting.
Next stop: Qatar
The other two countries on Trump’s itinerary are Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Qatar hit the headlines over the weekend after Trump said he was willing to accept a luxury Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet as a gift from the wealthy state’s ruling family.
The US president is expected to announce deals with the three countries that will touch on artificial intelligence, expanding energy cooperation and could include new arms sales to Saudi Arabia.
The Trump administration earlier this month announced initial approval to sell $3.5 billion (€3.1bn) worth of air-to-air missiles for Saudi Arabia’s fighter jets.
Trump is trying to show that his transactional strategy for international politics is paying dividends as he faces criticism from Democrats who argue that his global tariff war and approach to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine are isolating the US from its allies.
Saudi Arabia and fellow OPEC+ nations have already helped their cause with Trump during the early stages of his second term by boosting oil production. The US president sees cheap energy as a key way of lowering costs and stemming inflation at home.
Zionist colony exclusion raises eyebrows
The Trump administration’s decision to not schedule a trip to occupied Palestine during this tour has raised questions about Washington’s stance towards its long-time ally.
Several analysts have said the choice may reflect Trump’s priorities being focused on economic benefits for the US, rather than broader diplomacy or security issues.

Statement by the Spox of the Yemeni Armed Forces General Yahya Saree
From Yemen, a word of advice to all international airlines: Stop flights to airports in occupied Palestine.

Yemeni missile hits bulls eye!
Ben Gurion Airport under Yemeni hell fire.“In support of the oppressed Palestinian people and their mujahideen, and in rejection of the crime of genocide perpetrated by the Zionist enemy against our people in the Gaza Strip.
The missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation targeting Lod Airport, Israeli named “Ben Gurion”, in the occupied area of Yaffa, using a hypersonic ballistic missile.
The missile successfully achieved its target, thanks to Allah, and led millions of occupying Zionists to flee to shelters and halting airport operations for nearly an hour.
This operation confirms the continued navigation ban on the mentioned airport.
All other airlines that have not yet announced a halt to their flights should follow the path of those that have previously announced a halt of flights to airports in occupied Palestine.
Our great people will not abandon the Palestinian people, who are being subjected to genocide.
All free people of the nation must fulfill their religious, moral, and humanitarian duties toward the oppressed Palestinian people.
The Yemeni Armed Forces affirm that their support operations, as well as the ban on air navigation at Lod Airport and the ban on Zionist maritime navigation in the Red and Arabian Seas, will cease immediately upon the cessation of aggression against Gaza and the lifting of the blockade.”
