“Lebanon has no defence plan without Hezbollah,” says Dr. Mousavi, confirming that the Lebanese government lacks a security plan to protect the country if Hezbollah is disarmed.
In this context, Palestinian fighter fractions reassured that they had no plans to surrender weapons.
The Palestinian factions in Lebanon denied any plans to hand over weapons within Palestinian camps, particularly in Burj al-Barajneh, clarifying that recent developments there are purely internal matters concerning the Fatah movement. They stressed that this has no connection to the broader issue of Palestinian arms in the camps.
The factions affirmed their commitment to the security and stability of the camps and surrounding areas. They emphasized full respect for Lebanese laws, state sovereignty, and institutions, while maintaining strong fraternal ties between Palestinians and the Lebanese population.
They also highlighted that their weapons remain linked to the right of return and the Palestinian cause. These arms will only be used against the Israeli occupation until Palestinians achieve their right to return, freedom, and the establishment of an independent state on their land.
