The UNHCR reported a continued influx of Syrian refugees into Lebanon in recent months, especially into the poor host communities of Akkar and North Lebanon. As of early April, 29,000 new arrivals—6,216 families including 365 Lebanese returning from Syria—were recorded, with 20,553 settling in Akkar alone. The village of Al-Masoudiyeh hosts the largest number, with 1,200 families. In North Lebanon, 8,500 refugees—2,111 families—mainly settled in Tripoli’s Jabal Mohsen. The Red Cross and UNHCR expect the inflow to continue.
