Dozens killed, injured as Zionist forces shoot at civilians in South Lebanon

Zionist forces have opened fire at the Lebanese people returning to their homes in the country’s southern towns, killing at least two civilians and wounding 31 others.
Lebanon’s Public Health Ministry released the figures on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television channel reported that Israeli forces had abducted two Lebanese from the border town of Houla – Al Manar video.

Other reports said an Israeli drone had targeted residents in the village of Bani Hayyan, causing multiple injuries.

Additionally, an Israeli drone dropped sound bombs on a gathering of Lebanese citizens at the Houla-Majdal Silm-Shaqra triangle in southern Lebanon – Al Manar video.

Earlier on Sunday, the 60-day deadline for the complete withdrawal of Israeli soldiers from southern Lebanon ended. The pullout was stipulated in a ceasefire deal between Israel and the Hezbollah resistance movement.

The regime forces, however, did not leave the occupied areas in a blatant violation of the truce agreement and an infringement on Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Over the weekend, the Israeli military warned Lebanese people not to return to their hometowns in the country’s south and put up barricades in the area.

Hezbollah opened a support front for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip after Israel unleashed a genocidal war on the besieged territory on October 7, 2023, launching numerous retaliatory attacks against targets in the occupied lands.

Israel was forced to accept the ceasefire with Hezbollah on November 27, 2024, after suffering heavy losses on the battleground and failing to achieve its goals despite killing over 4,000 people in Lebanon.

Lebanese Citizens Defy Israeli Enemy, Return to Their Villages in South Lebanon

Israeli Procrastination

The 60-day agreement, which was brokered by the US and France, stipulated the withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon.

However, the Israeli enemy has been stubborn on the issue, announcing that the occupation forces will remain in several points in the Lebanese territory, in a flagrant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty.

The Zionist move to stay in Lebanon comes amid continuous violations by the Israeli occupation army across Lebanon, including drone movement, strikes, shelling and advance of infantry forces and vehicles.

Lebanese Army Deployment

As stipulated in the ceasefire agreement, which took effect on November 27, following a 66-day Israeli aggression, the Lebanese Army is set to deploy across south Lebanon, including the area south of Litani River.

However, the national army’s deployment has been delayed as the Israeli enemy refuses to abide by the deal.

On Saturday, the Lebanese Army blamed the Israeli enemy over the delay of its units’ deployment south of Litani River.

In a statement, the army command said: “There has been a delay in a number of stages as a result of Israeli procrastination in withdrawal, which complicates the army’s deployment mission.”

Hebrew media was cited by Al-Manar as monitoring the movement of the Lebanese citizens in south Lebanon.

“Lebanese southerners return to their villages raising Hezbollah flags, how the Israelis will return to north?”, Hebrew media wondered.

The Zionist have their severe limitations, and they do not understand, or they do struggle to accept that they are surrounded by people who do not accept their presence.

No matter how many fences and walls the Zionist erect, there will be no safety and security.

The basis of existence is first and foremost good relations with neighbours.

As Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah once said, ‘the Zionists have no natural connection,’ and they do not belong to the land they have been occupying for the past century.

All they have to secure their pathetic existence is their so-called most moral army in the world – the IOF – which has proven to be a failure, not only on October 7.

The Zionist entity cannot expect good relations when they occupy Arab land and kill Arab babies.
