UK police arrest Greta Thunberg under Terrorism Act
Greta Thunberg detained in London for opposing the Western-backed zionist genocide. She was arrested while holding a sign: “I support Palestine Action prisoners. I oppose genocide.” Protest was outside Aspen Insurance, insurer for zionist colony weapons firm Elbit Systems.
https://t.me/presstv/169111British police arrested Swedish activist Greta Thunberg on Tuesday during a pro-Palestinian protest in London, according to UK-based campaign group Defend Our Juries.
The group said Thunberg was arrested under the Terrorism Act after holding a sign stating support for prisoners linked to Palestine Action, an organization that the British government has proscribed as a terrorist group. Why was Greta Thunberg arrested?
A spokesperson for the City of London Police said two people had earlier been arrested for throwing red paint on a building.
“A little while later, a 22-year-old woman also attended the scene,” the police spokesperson said in a statement. “She has been arrested for displaying an item [in this case a placard] in support of a proscribed organization [in this case Palestine Action] contrary to Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000.”
Palestinian activist group Prisoners for Palestine said Thunberg had been holding a sign reading “I support the Palestine Action prisoners. I oppose genocide.”
Several experts, including those commissioned by a UN body, have said that Israel’s offensive in Gaza amounts to genocide. Israel vigorously denies the claim.
Thunberg has spoken out previously about the hunger strikers, who are in prison awaiting trial after showing support for Palestine Action.
Defend Our Juries said the Tuesday protest targeted a building used by an insurance firm that, according to the group, provides services to the British arm of Israeli defense company Elbit Systems. The group says it exists to highlight the undermining of the legal process for people acting on their conscience. It has, in particular, supported the actions of Just Stop Oil and Insulate Britain climate campaigners, as well as those protesting against the proscription of Palestine Action.
Why is the group Palestine Action banned?
In June 2025, the UK Home Office announced plans to designate Palestine Action as a proscribed terrorist organization after activists broke into an airforce base.
The group vandalized two Royal Air Force Airbus A330 MRTT refueling aircraft, spraying red paint into their engines and causing damage that the government said went beyond protest and posed a serious risk to national security.
The terrorist organization designation makes it a criminal offense to support the group, display its symbols, or express support for it in public.
The decision was controversial and has been challenged by civil liberties groups, who argue the group’s actions constitute criminal damage rather than terrorism.DW Report

Pro-zion¿st group names Tucker Carlson ‘Antisemite of the Year’ over criticizing Gaza genocide
A US-based pro-zion¿st advocacy group has branded journalist Tucker Carlson ‘Antisemite of the Year,’ citing his outspoken opposition to zionist colony genocidal war on Gaza and his sharp criticism of pro-Israel lobbying in Washington.
StopAntisemitism, as the group has named itself, announced the self-described designation on Sunday, faulting Carlson’s repeated use of his podcast and media appearances to express disapproval of the regime’s genocidal atrocities in Gaza and the far-and-wide political influence of pro-Israeli groups in Washington.
Carlson, whose online platform reaches out to millions, has emerged as one of the most prominent rightwing figures publicly criticizing the regime’s role in US politics since the war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023.
He has repeatedly argued that the United States was complicit in the war and has questioned the level of influence exerted by the lobbying organizations.
Among those groups, Carlson has singled out the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), describing its influence as “an ongoing humiliation ritual” for US lawmakers and the country.
He has also denounced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for openly boasting about his leverage over American leaders. Netanyahu is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the genocide that has so far claimed the lives of at least 70,937 and wounded more than 171,000 others, with women and children forming the majority of the casualties. In a September interview with journalist Glenn Greenwald, Carlson said Netanyahu was openly claiming control over US political leadership, including President Donald Trump.
Carlson has further criticized “Christian Zionism,” describing it as a driving force behind unconditional US support for the regime.
He has argued that “Christian Zionism” poses a threat to Christianity in the United States, censuring its adherents for treating the regime’s illegitimate existence and attempts at military dominance as a “religious mandate.”
StopAntisemitism also accused Carlson of targeting pro-Israeli commentator Ben Shapiro, alleging Carlson had criticized Shapiro for prioritizing the regime, while the United States itself faced domestic challenges.
The dispute escalated over the weekend when Steve Bannon, a former White House strategist for Trump and a close ally of his, publicly criticized Shapiro at a major conservative convention. Bannon described Shapiro as “Israel First,” drawing cheers from the audience.
StopAntisemitism’s executive director, Liora Reznichenko has openly described the group’s strategy towards critics of the regime as one of public exposure and reputational pressure.
Addressing a Jerusalem Post conference on Capitol Hill in December, she said the group sought to make critics’ statements permanently traceable online through public documentation.
Reznichenko said the group’s campaigns had so far led to at least 400 people losing their jobs, including academics, activists, and media figures.
Among those targeted by StopAntisemitism is children’s educator Rachel Griffin Accurso, widely known as Ms Rachel. The group accused her of antisemitism after she shared content highlighting the suffering of Palestinian children during the regime’s bombardment and siege of Gaza.
StopAntisemitism has repeatedly criticized Accurso for posting images of starving children and child amputees to her audience of more than 20 million.
The group has also urged US Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate Accurso for alleged foreign funding, without presenting evidence. In contrast, Accurso was named one of Glamour magazine’s 2025 “Women of the Year” for her work in early childhood education and advocacy for children affected by war worldwide.PressTV report

Trump says US ‘has to have’ Greenland for national security to counter Russia and China
Security pretext to colonize for rare earths –
US President Donald Trump on Monday renewed his claim that the United States needs Greenland for national security, announcing that a special envoy he appointed to the Arctic island would “lead the charge.” Trump named Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry as his envoy on Sunday, reviving controversy over Washington’s interest in the mineral rich, strategically located territory, which is self governing under Danish sovereignty.
Speaking in Florida, Trump said Greenland was essential to counter Russian and Chinese activity in the Arctic, insisting US interest was driven by security rather than resources. “We have to have it,” Trump said.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielsen rejected the remarks in a joint statement, stressing that Greenland belongs to its people and cannot be annexed, even under the pretext of international security.https://t.me/thecradlemedia/48498

US boat strike kills another person in eastern Pacific as Trump escalates pressure on Venezuela
In another attack, US forces targeted an alleged drug vessel in the Pacific Ocean, killing one person.
https://t.me/presstv/169083A US military strike on a vessel in the eastern Pacific Ocean has killed another individual, marking the latest fatal attack in Washington’s expanding campaign of lethal force at sea.
In a statement on Monday, US Southern Command said the strike took place earlier in the day against what it described as a “low-profile vessel” in international waters, resulting in the death of one person, as part of a military campaign carried out under the pretext of drug interdiction.
“On Dec. 22, at the direction of @SecWar Pete Hegseth, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a low-profile vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in international waters,” SOUTHCOM wrote on X, adding that no American service members were harmed in the strike.
At least 105 people have been killed since early September in attacks on vessels accused by Washington of drug trafficking under a campaign known as Operation Southern Spear. The administration of US President Donald Trump claims the campaign is intended to curb the narcotics trade.
Just last week, US forces attacked two vessels in the eastern Pacific, killing five more people, whom were labeled “unlawful combatants” by Washington.
The White House claims it can conduct lethal strikes without judicial review based on a classified Justice Department finding.
These deadly operations come amid a broader escalation of US military and economic pressure on Venezuela, including a major naval buildup in the Caribbean and a “total and complete blockade” of oil tankers trading with the South American country.
The US has already intercepted two Venezuelan-bound tankers and is pursuing another, aiming to cut off Caracas’s oil revenues.Venezuela has time and again warned that the blockade threatens global energy supplies and has condemned the US deployment and maritime strikes as a systematic and unlawful use of lethal force in violation of international law.
On Monday, Trump refused to clarify his ultimate objective in Venezuela, while once again hinting at possible ground attacks and suggesting that it would be “wise” for Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to step aside.
“There’s no answer. He can do whatever he wants. We have a massive armada — the biggest we’ve ever had, and the biggest we’ve ever had in South America. He can do whatever he wants. It’s all right, whatever he wants to do. If he wants to do something, if he plays tough, it’d be the last time he’s ever able to play tough,” Trump said.
Separately on Monday, Caracas stressed that the US-imposed naval blockade would disrupt global energy markets, according to a letter signed by Maduro and read aloud by Foreign Minister Yván Gil.
Maduro also condemned the US military deployment in the Caribbean as “a direct threat involving the use of force” and denounced the boat strikes in the Caribbean and the Pacific as part of a “systematic practice of lethal force” outside international law.PressTV report
