Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, said the so-called two-state solution represents a betrayal of the Palestinian cause, as it entails recognition of the zion>st entity and the confiscation of occupied Palestinian land in its favor.
In a statement posted Monday on social media, al-Houthi stressed that the proposal “will neither restore the rights of the Palestinian people nor halt the zionist entity’s violations across the region or its pursuit to expand the occupation.”
He further called on Saudi Arabia and other Arab and Islamic regimes not to allow recognition of the two-state solution to become a cosmetic gesture or a cover for normalization with the zionist enemy.
The two-state solution has been promoted by Western powers as a framework for Palestinian-Israeli peace, proposing a Palestinian state alongside the zionist entity. Critics argue decades of zionist settlement expansion, land confiscation, and repeated military attacks make the plan unrealistic, effectively legitimizing occupation.
Regional leaders and resistance movements warn that accepting the two-state solution without addressing core issues—such as Palestinian sovereignty, the right of return, and the end of zionist aggression—amounts to complicity, especially amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis and killings in Gaza.
