Count of suicide cases amoung zion*st soldiers may be far higher than declared

Haaretz reports that a Golani Brigade soldier took his own life at Sde Teiman torture facility after returning from Gaza, days after a close friend was killed in an explosion.

He had been questioned by military police and had his weapon confiscated, then used another soldier’s rifle while they slept.

The army did not count him among war casualties, following a policy that excludes suicides.

Since the colony’s war on Gaza began, at least 42 soldiers and 11 zion*st settlers have taken their own lives, many suffering from severe trauma after direct combat.

The military has withheld official suicide figures for 2025—and crucially, does not include former soldiers who die by suicide after discharge, even when their deaths are directly linked to service-related trauma.
