The Zionist regime has committed a “full-fledged crime” in its attack on Tehran’s Evin Prison, resulting in the martyrdom of 71 individuals, including prison staff, conscript soldiers, inmates, and civilians, according to Iran’s Judiciary spokesman.

In a statement on Sunday, Judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir condemned the brutal assault, which also caused extensive material and physical damage to nearby residential areas, including buildings close to the prison’s visitation hall and courthouse.

“Tragically, this attack deliberately targeted ordinary citizens,” Jahangir said, confirming that among the martyrs were neighbours living near the facility.
