At least 20 Palestinians were killed and over 200 injured by zionist fire near a US aid distribution center in southern Gaza, the Gaza Civil Defense reported. Victims were waiting to receive food in Rafah when they were shot, with many transferred to field hospitals in Khan Younis. The bodies of the dead and most injured were taken to Nasser Hospital for burial.
Separately, two fishermen were shot dead by zionist naval forces off Gaza’s coast, and a dawn zionist airstrike targeted displaced persons’ tents near the port area in western Gaza City, causing more casualties.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli attacks killed 55,432 Palestinians and injured 128,923, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
Medical Groups Condemn EU’s Empty Statements, Call for Action
Doctors Without Borders urged the European Union to move beyond “empty statements” and pressure Israel to stop war crimes in Gaza. They called for immediate humanitarian access and medical evacuations, highlighting that nearly 13,000 people—including over 4,500 critically ill—need urgent care.
The organization condemned countries continuing to supply Israel with weapons causing civilian casualties and long-term disabilities.
Meanwhile, the International Committee of the Red Cross warned of a sharp decline in Gaza’s healthcare capacity amid Israeli orders to evacuate key medical facilities, including Nasser Hospital. They stressed the worsening humanitarian conditions and urged protection for medical and emergency workers who faced repeated attacks.
UN Warns of Severe Hunger Crisis
The UN Food and Agriculture Organization and World Food Program warned that 2.1 million Palestinians in Gaza face critical risk of famine due to ongoing Israeli military operations, mass displacement, and restricted humanitarian aid.
The agencies said food shortages may reach record levels by September if the crisis continues unchecked.
