Battle or humiliation — and far from us is humiliation

UNIFIL patrol blocked by Lebanese men in South Lebanon amid increased activity –

Following intensified UNIFIL operations in southern Lebanon to search for alleged Hezbollah facilities, one of its patrols was blocked today and forced to retreat.

According to reports, two young men from the town of Tayr Debba (Tyre District), riding a motorcycle, intercepted a UNIFIL convoy as it passed through a street in the town, forcing the patrol to withdraw immediately.

Al-Akhbar’s correspondent said UNIFIL later filed a complaint with the Lebanese army against the two men who had stopped the convoy.

Meanwhile, the French contingent in UNIFIL conducted a second consecutive day of intensive patrols in the Wadi al-Salouqi area at the base of Houla.

On the ground, Israeli forces continue to violate the ceasefire agreement in the south. According to the National News Agency, Israeli soldiers fired bursts of gunfire from near the separation wall in Kfar Kila toward the town square.

This comes amid heavy Israeli aerial activity, with warplanes and surveillance drones flying over most southern villages.

The attached photo shows the remains of a martyr from southern Lebanon. The note reads:

“On Tuesday, 15/10/2024, around 1:30 PM, a drone carrying a loudspeaker, was saying that Hezbollah members must withdraw immediately. At that moment, I remembered the speech of His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah when he said that the enemy has given us two choices — battle or humiliation — and far from us is humiliation.” RNN
