IOF launched on Friday an attack on a residential building in the Jamous-Hadat area of Beirut’s southern suburbs. This marks the first such assault on the region since the cessation of the Zionist colony’s ’ large-scale aggression on Lebanon on November 27, 2024.
According to Al Manar’s correspondent, Israeli aircraft destroyed one of the targeted buildings in Hadat. The attack involved three warning strikes by an Israeli drone, followed by the heaviest strike from ‘Israeli’ warplanes. The ‘Israeli’ drones continued to fly extensively at low altitudes over the area.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned the Israeli targeting of Beirut’s southern suburbs, describing it as a “serious escalation.”
He denounced the Israeli attacks on civilians and safe residential areas, including those housing schools and universities. Salam emphasized the need to halt the Israeli enemy’s continuous violations of ceasefire arrangements and called for the immediate withdrawal from areas still under ‘Israeli’ occupation.
Ibrahim Al-Mousawi, a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, stated that “this Israeli aggression cannot continue,” urging the Lebanese government to be transparent with the public. He called on the government to outline the measures it has taken to end the ongoing violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty.
These ongoing Israeli strikes on Lebanon constitute blatant violations of the ceasefire agreement and UN Security Council Resolution 1701. Despite these repeated breaches, the international body responsible for overseeing the ceasefire has taken no action to prevent further Israeli aggression.
