Civil Defense Battles Fires in Hosh al-Sayyid Ali Amid Ongoing Border Clashes –
The Civil Defense teams continue their efforts to extinguish fires in Hosh al-Sayyid Ali, a village affected by clashes near the Syrian border. The fires have caused significant damage, consuming around 30 homes and shops. Despite facing challenges, such as harsh weather conditions and strong winds.
The fire-fighting operations involve 20 centers from the regional offices in Hermel and Baalbek. The teams are working at full capacity to control the fires, which have been further complicated by the strong winds intensifying the flames. In the past three days, Civil Defense also handled fires in Qasr, which had been targeted by artillery shelling, managing to contain fires that affected 20 homes and shops.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense emphasized its commitment to protecting lives and property, working closely with the Lebanese Army and relevant authorities to manage the situation.

Hosh al-Sayyid Ali Declared a Disaster-Stricken Village Amid Border Clashes
The mayors of Hermel declared Hosh al-Sayyid Ali a “disaster-stricken village” following recent clashes between locals and Syrian forces. They condemned the shelling, displacement, looting, and burning of homes in the area.
The mayors appealed to the Lebanese state, including President Joseph Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, Speaker Nabih Berri, and the Lebanese Army, to protect the town and its borders. They also called for compensation for the victims and immediate shelter for displaced residents.
