Lebanese Health Ministry: 7 martyrs and 52 injuries in the latest Lebanese-Syrian border clashes.
After a heavy bombardment and intense clashes on the front of the town of Hosh al-Sayyid Ali, Haya’t Tahrir al-Sham terrorists were able to take full control of Hosh al-Sayyid Ali after the Lebanese Army withdrew from it.
The residents of Hosh al-Sayyid Ali have fled after a wave of heavy bombardment and the gathering of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorists from the towns of Rabla and Jantaliya. The bombardment is currently concentrated around the border town of al-Qasr, while the fighters have reached the irrigation canal of the border town of al-Qasr.

Escalating Tensions on the Lebanese-Syrian Border: Security and Political Implications
Amid rising tensions along the Lebanese-Syrian border, the new Syrian administration has escalated its rhetoric against Hezbollah, accusing the group of “spreading chaos” in the region. This comes following the killing of three Syrian armed members after infiltrating into Lebanese territory and clashing with shepherds in Al-Qasr, northern Bekaa.
Syria’s Defense Ministry issued a statement accusing Hezbollah of abducting and executing “three Syrian army soldiers” near the Zeita Dam, western Homs, warning that Damascus would take “all necessary measures” in response to what it called a “dangerous escalation” by Hezbollah. However, Hezbollah’s media office denied any involvement, reiterating that the group has “no connection to events occurring inside Syrian territory.”
Despite communication between the Lebanese Army and Syrian officials, tensions escalated quickly. Syrian armed forces responded with indiscriminate artillery and rocket fire, targeting Al-Mushrifa, Mazraat Beit Al-Tashm towns, Hawsh Al-Sayyid Ali outskirts and the villages of Qanatif and Al-Qasr. The attacks resulted in the killing of a child, injured four others and triggered displacement as residents fled toward Hermel.
In response, the Lebanese Army reinforced its positions along the border and began monitoring militant movements on the Syrian side with surveillance drones. However, after Lebanese towns and villages were attacked from Syrian territory, the army retaliated by targeting the sources of fire using “appropriate weapons”, reinforcing its deployment and restoring security to the area. The army also conducted intensive overnight communication with the Syrian side to de-escalate the situation and handed over the three bodies to the Syrian side. Discussions between the Lebanese Army and Syrian authorities are ongoing to maintain stability along the border.
Meanwhile, sources in Damascus indicated that “figures within Syria’s new leadership are pushing for a confrontation with Lebanon—using Hezbollah as the pretext—to consolidate internal support amid rising instability, kidnappings, and assassinations.” The sources suggested that the new administration seeks a Lebanese-Syrian security arrangement under international sponsorship, echoing past US-Israeli-backed efforts to expand international forces’ jurisdiction to Lebanon’s entire eastern border—a move that has triggered heightened political and security concerns in Lebanon.
