Scrab by scrab stealing Lebanese land

Zionist settlers entered Tal Al-Abad area on the outskirts of Houla this morning, claiming to visit the tomb of “Rabbi Ashi,” while locals in southern towns assert that the tomb actually belongs to Sheikh Al-Abad.

When the borders were demarcated after the liberation of the south in 2000, the Blue Line passed through the middle of Al-Abad tomb, dividing it into a liberated half and an occupied half. Over the years, Zionist forces began erecting a fence over the occupied part of the tomb and organized settler visits without approaching the Lebanese side. However, during the latest Zionist aggression, they seized the entire tomb and removed the dividing fence.

At dawn, hundreds of Israeli Hasidic settlers gathered to pray at the tomb of Rav Ashi, a 4th-century Babylonian Jewish rabbi, in southern Lebanon. The site, near the summit of Mount Shanan, sits directly on the Blue Line, nestled between an Israeli army post and a UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) base, overlooking the southern Lebanese village of Houla in the Marjayoun district.

UNIFIL spokesperson Kandice Adriel stated that “any unauthorized crossing of the Blue line is a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.”

Israeli ultra-Orthodox Jews previously infiltrated the same site in mid February.
