Since the start of the Zionist-American war on Lebanon, 310 children have been killed and over 1,500 injured in Lebanon.
The crisis has led to severe food insecurity, with 51% of children under two in Baalbek and Bekaa suffering from hunger, double the rate from a year ago. The living conditions for families have worsened, with 80% needing urgent aid and many cutting back on healthcare and education expenses. Access to essential resources like water, medication, and heating has also been limited.
UNICEF noted a decline in international aid, with only 26% of its 2025 funding appeal met. The war has left 500,000 children out of school, and many schools are now being used as shelters for displaced people.
The findings were shared by UNICEF’s Deputy Representative in Lebanon, Ettie Higgins, during a weekly UN press briefing in Geneva.
