When Sayyed Abbas al Mousawi would go to visit Imam Khomeini in Iran and during his participation in the Iraq Iran war his wife realized that she can’t live without him and would pray for him to come back healthy.
When Sayyed Abbas knew this he told her: “How come you didn’t pray for my martyrdom?” She then told him: “I’ll pray for your martyrdom on one condition, which is me being martyred before you”.
After this topic got dropped Umm Yasser (Shaheed Mousavi’s wife) thought of getting martyred with Sayyed Abbas and would pray for God to not separate them in this life and the hereafter.
On her visit to Iran she asked God for a sign so her heart is at ease and so she knows that she’s going to be martyred with her husband. The sign was Imam Khomeini looking at her when she goes to visit him. On the first visit she went with her son Hussein, Imam Khomeini put his hand on Hussein’s head and said “Mazloum (oppressed) Hussein.” On the second visit she took her son Mohammad, then Imam Khomeini looked at her and smiled.
On the 16th of February 1992 Sayyed Abbas (the then Secretary General of Hezbollah), his wife and their son Hussein were assassinated by the israeli occupation forces.
His life is a role model for all of us. We need to read and implement it in our life. He and his family many times couldn’t afford more than one meal while he studied but the patience and gratitude that they displayed was exemplary.

One rarely hears or reads on the wives of Resistance leaders. Both must have been exceptional personalities created specifically to love and die with each other.
It is one of the most beautiful chapters of Islam.
Akin to the bond between Imam Ali & Lady Fatimah.
