US Citizen Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Join Hezbollah

On December 6, 2024, US authorities arrested 24-year-old Jack Danaher Molloy in Pennsylvania for allegedly attempting to support Hezbollah and making false statements to the FBI regarding international terrorism. Molloy, a dual US-Irish citizen and former US Army member, is accused of attempting to provide material support to Hezbollah between August and December 2024. This occurred while Hezbollah remained a designated terrorist organization in the US.

The indictment, filed by Pennsylvania Assistant Attorney General Nicole Vasquez Schmitt, outlines that Molloy traveled to Lebanon in August 2024, seeking to join Hezbollah. He was reportedly told the timing was not right, prompting him to move to Syria in October 2024 with the intention of fighting for Hezbollah. Despite his return to the US, authorities claim Molloy continued efforts to connect with Hezbollah affiliates online, though they did not present direct evidence of these communications.

Molloy is also accused of expressing anti-Semitic sentiments, including promoting violence against Jews, based on evidence found on his electronic devices. This included photos, videos, and content linked to his social media and email accounts, as well as a WhatsApp message to a family member in which he allegedly said his goal was to join Hezbollah and “kill Jews.”

In addition to charges of attempting to support a terrorist organization, Molloy faces allegations of lying to the FBI when he entered the US in October 2024, claiming he had no intentions to join Hezbollah or travel to Syria. If convicted, Molloy could face up to 20 years in prison for providing material support to Hezbollah and up to eight years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both for the charges of making false statements to the FBI.

Al Akhbar report

If he had attempted to join IOF to kill Palestinian children or if he had gone to Ukraine to fight for Zelenskyy murdering Russian people, or if he had entered the Hayat TahrirAl-Sham terrorists, the US government would not have been bothered at all.

Unlike the IOF, Hezbollah has never killed children, neither deliberately nor mistakenly.

Unlike Zelenskyy, Hezbollah’s leadership has never been accused of embezzlement or corruption.

Unlike the Ukrainian army’s Azov Battalion, Hezbollah does not maintain a fascist doctrine-led sub-entity.

Unlike the leadership of Hayat Tahrir al Sham, Hezbollah has no connection to ISIS fractions or any  other proscribed terrorists.

Hezbollah has a connection to Iran’s Revolutionary Corps, which is a state aucteur.

The same is valid for Kata’ib Hezbollah.
