425 days have passed since the ‘Israeli’ genocide in Gaza began.

Israeli occupation aircraft launched a series of airstrikes on the Al-Mawasi area, which shelters thousands of displaced Palestinians in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of more than 20 civilians.

After the Israeli occupation army forced Palestinian families to leave their neighborhoods in the northern Gaza Strip and move to the so-called Israeli-designated “safe zone” in Al-Mawasi area, Israel persists in its deliberate targeting of tents of displaced civilians, committing massacres against them, resulting in the killing of tens of thousands of people over the past 13 months.

Mohammed Walid Hussein Ali, 45, died in Israeli custody a week after his arrest. He was from Nur Shams camp in Tulkarm in the West Bank. Palestinian authorities confirmed his death on Wednesday. Ali had spent nearly 20 years in Israeli prisons. He held leadership roles within the prisoner movement and served as Hamas prisoners’ representative in Negev prison. He worked to defend the rights and achievements of prisoners.

Ali’s death brings the number of prisoners killed in Israeli custody since October 7, 2023 to 48. This includes 29 from Gaza.
