At least 300 armed gunmen were killed in the past 24 hours across Syria

The Russian Defense Ministry has reported that the Syrian Army, with the support of the Russian Air Force, has been striking gatherings of armed groups across Syria, namely in Aleppo and Idlib.

According to their latest update, at least 300 armed gunmen were killed in the past 24 hours as a result of these coordinated operations. The intensified strikes come as part of ongoing efforts to neutralize the militant forces in the country and restore stability.

Al Mayadeen

In recent days, terrorist armed organizations under the so-called “Jabhat al-Nusra,” supported by thousands of foreign terrorists, heavy weaponry, and a large number of drones, launched a wide-scale attack from multiple fronts on the Aleppo and Idlib axes. Our armed forces engaged in fierce battles across various points of confrontation along a front exceeding 100 kilometers to halt their advance. During these battles, dozens of our brave soldiers were martyred, and others were wounded.

The large number of terrorists and the multiplicity of engagement fronts compelled our armed forces to carry out a redeployment operation aimed at reinforcing defensive lines to absorb the attack, preserve the lives of civilians and soldiers, and prepare for a counterattack.

As the influx of terrorists across the northern borders continues and military and technical support for them intensifies, terrorist organizations managed in the past hours to enter significant portions of Aleppo’s neighborhoods. However, they were unable to establish fixed positions due to the ongoing concentrated and powerful strikes by our armed forces while awaiting the completion of military reinforcements and their deployment across combat axes in preparation for a counteroffensive.

The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces affirms that this measure is temporary. It will spare no effort to ensure the safety and security of our people in Aleppo and will continue its operations and national duty to confront terrorist organizations, expel them, and restore the state’s control and institutions over the entire city and its countryside.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense added that the Syrian Army has not withdrawn from Hama and are positioned on the northern and eastern countryside, stressing not to believe rumors published by opposition media. Towns near Hama have not been entered.

The Russian Coordination center reported that the Syrian Army and Russian Air Force killed 300 militants in the last 24 hours. On Friday, they announced 600 killed in the 48 hours prior.

The situation is evolving and dynamic, after Western-backed HTS and allied factions stormed towns west of Aleppo and southeast of Idlib three days ago, as the IOF continues to bomb Syria and seeks, too, to destabilize it. HTS, which did not lift a finger for Gaza or Lebanon, explicitly thanked “israel” for its assassination of Hezbollah leaders earlier this year.
