Airstrikes cause mass exodus from southern Lebanon as death toll reaches 275

Lebanon received over 80,000 suspected calls from “Israel” urging residents to evacuate their areas, Imad Kreidieh, the head of state telecom company Ogero, told Reuters in an interview on Monday.
He described these calls as “psychological warfare to make havoc and chaos.”
People in Beirut have been reportedly receiving text messages asking them to evacuate quickly, as reported by Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).
Minister of Information Ziad Makary received a voicemail urging the evacuation of his building. Experts noted that these Israeli warnings are a classic example of psychological warfare, echoing tactics seen in Gaza, as they are now being applied in Lebanon – Al Mayadeen.

These recorded phone calls that have been made by the Israeli army have been received, however, all over the city, even in the centre.
Our contacts at the information ministry, in the centre of the Lebanese capital, received these calls instructing them to evacuate if the building was storing or contained arms belonging to Hezbollah or any of its allies.
It has sent a collective shiver through the community.
And it is an unwelcome reminder of previous times: the war in 2006, when much of the southern suburbs controlled by Hezbollah were destroyed in Israeli airstrikes.
This is something that people in each and every community that make up this city do not want to return to.
State schools in Beirut and in locations throughout the country have been designated by the education ministry as emergency shelters for people affected by an Israeli bombing campaign.
It is a sign that this country is now considering something that most people thought was once unthinkable: a major confrontation with the Israelis – Sky News.

According to the Lebanese Minister of Health, at least 274 people, including children and women, have been killed, and more than 1,024 have been wounded due to the Israeli occupation’s bombardment since this morning in southern Lebanon.
Ambulances, fire trucks, and civilian vehicles have been struck by Israeli airstrikes, killing several members of the civil defense teams and ambulance drivers so far – QNN.
