29 Aug 2019, The UAE carried out air strikes against Saudi-backed government forces in South Yemen on in support of southern separatists who have deployed reinforcements to take back control of the port of Aden from their supposed allies in the Saudi-led coalition. Yemen’s Defence Ministry said in a statement that more than 300 people were killed and wounded by air strikes by UAE war planes on Aden and Abyan Province – Reuters report.
The UAE has played a destablizing role in Yemen by arming militia, specifically, the STC, and mercenaries throughout the course of the nine-year Yemen war. The UAE has gained significant control over Aden, Shabwa, Abyan, Socotra, and other governorates in southern Yemen through the STC militia. The UAE excerts Yemen’s natural treasure (oil and gas fields) to sell it to Eropean and American patrons and deposits the money in the UAE central bank.
