The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Thursday that additional F-22 Raptors have been deployed to the Middle East amid an impending retaliation by Iran and its allies.
On Friday, media outlets reported that the US plans to send more combat aircraft to the region to counter “threats from Iran” and resistance groups in Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen, who have indicated intentions to launch retaliatory attacks on “Israel” in response to the death of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh.
“US Air Force F-22 Raptors arrived in the US Central Command area of responsibility Aug. 8 as part of US force posture changes in the region and to address threats posed by Iran and Iranian-backed groups,” CENTCOM said via X.
