Erosion of ethical journalism

The emphasis on clickbait headlines and sensationalized stories has transformed journalism into a mere entertainment-driven landscape.

In order to capture the fleeting attention of users scrolling through their feeds, news outlets and individuals often resort to exaggerated claims and provocative language.

A sensationalism-driven approach is a detrimental course for serious journalism.

Todays fact-checking mechanisms are not adapted to this fast pace, and often, users read only the heading presented by established and trusted news outlets.

Hoaxes, defined as deliberately fabricated or misleading stories, can easily gain traction and spread rapidly among millions of users before being debunked.

A large majority of mainstream Western media seeks to deceive or manipulate the public for financial or political purposes.

The consequences of the proliferation of hoaxes are severe. False information can have a detrimental impact on individuals, communities, and institutions. It can influence public opinion, incite panic, and damage reputations. Moreover, the spread of hoaxes erodes trust in the media and further blurs the line between fact and fiction in public discourse.

The corporate Western media is driven by the notion to build a positive public opinion on Israel, which has been waging a genocidal war against the Palestinian people.

There is a plethora of evidence that the Apartheid regime in occupied Palestine operates in multiple countries all over the globe to build, influence, restrict, or all together silence public opinion.

The Israeli regime and its strong supporters in the West have the financial means to buy, sell, and dispose of corporate Western media outlets.

Decent journalism, or traditional journalism has been in danger of being overwhelmed by rogue politics and a communications revolution that accelerates the spread of lies, misinformation and dubious claims.

Furthermore, journalists should also assume as much courage as to confront and ask themselves: Are we the captive of the personal values and biases?
