Join Marine Scientist and local organiser Laras Nauna in the fight against plastic waste in the communities of Philippines.
This crisis is unfolding across the Global South, in communities least equipped to deal with it.
Help Greenpeace in their effort against the beauty cartel Dove.
These plastic sachets and bottles are sold to the global south by Western nations that do not wish to deal with contaminated materials.
In earlier times, the West used to sell these toxic materials to China.
However, China, recognising contamination and the arriving implications, refused to import these toxic materials.
So, the West started selling the toxic plastic to Turkey and to the Philippines and other countries that cannot manage to treat the degree of contamination.
Hence, they dump it into the seas or other places where these plastics destroy the environment, animal, and human health.
