According to this scientific paper, a new species has been discovered in Yemen.
The speciment is kept in the collection of the National Museums Scotland.
As the story goes, in the year 1975, a flower was collected by botanist John Wood, in Yemen, and deposited in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Later, a new species of Lygistorrhina was discovered in the very same flower originally from Yemen.
The scientists who worked on this project jointly produced a “paper documenting the new species, … named Lygistorrhina woodi in John’s honour.”
