The report brazenly highlights the “generous” humanitarian aid that the US and UK have provided to Yemen throughout the eight-year-long war, obliterating the lethal aid they granted to the Saudi Arabia-led coalition in form of fighter jets, bombs, missiles, midd-air fueling, the $54.6 billion in military aid to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, etc., and what not more.
I was intending to leave a comment about their ‘wrong’. However, the Borgen Project has disabled comments.
One specific sentence, however, caught my attention. Their discourse highlights the “abundance of natural resources like oil, gas and minerals,” with which I fully agree.
But they fail to present the full picture, obfuscating the truth once more. In essence, Yemen’s crude commodities are nearly in their entirety under the Saudi Arabia-led and US, UK, France – backed coalition control, which equals Neocolonism. They jointly sell the commodities and deposit the proceeds in the Saudi Arabian Central Bank, on which the organisation Saudileaks reported extensively.
