The decision to lift the embargo was taken in April 2023 initially with the UAE to be rehabilitated. Now, it has been further extended to include Saudi Arabia.

The Italian government is apparently satisfied that the war in Yemen has been resolved and that stability has returned to the Middle East.

However, they might be deceived over the recent developments concerning the Yemen war or a more credible reason for their recommencement of arms trade with the Saudi Arabia-led coalition is as always, making proceeds at a human cost.
