Electricity shortages lead to patient deaths in Aden

Another dire day for Yemen’s strained and stretched health system. The Yemen Press Agency reports on power cuts in Aden, leading to several patient deaths. Citing a Southern Transitional Council news outlet, the YPA states that

the electricity system in Aden collapsed during the past hours, as power outage reached 6 hours per hour of operation and an average of 4 hours of operation during the entire day.

Electricity is one of several sectors that have completely collapsed amid disagreements between the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition and the local STC authority over revenues.

The system collapsed again as the pro-coalition government left the city.
