The country has been suffering from an economic blockade, which has brought all services within Yemen to its knees. The blockade, which includes access from the air sea and land, prevents patients from seeking substantial medical treatment abroad. Many have been left without employment, funds, and hope. Hence, people cannot afford expensive commutes to far away situated hospitals. And even if they, by chance, gathered the financial means, the air blockade sets an unbridgable barrier in finding medical remedy abroad. The financial burden of seeking treatment abroad is straining and puts patients in front of greater and constant challenges and changing international demands. The House of Saud affiliated media has recently reported on the unreasonable entry demands set by the Egyptian government. However, the Egyptian government refuses to wave with the new costly entry impositions for patients despite war-ravaged Yemen’s dire economic status.
