Heavy rainfalls have already caused several fatalities across Yemen. The country is poor in stormwater management, and its sewage system is not concocted to contain a vast amount of flash rain.
Yemen is suffering from a huge water scarcity problem, which affects around 17.5 million people. Additionally, some 15.3 million Yemeni are at risk of contracting waterborne diseases. Yemen is in dire need of clean water. The flush rains and floodings are posing a great level of danger to health and safety, giving rise to more water-born disease.
