Today, I once more had to read several news outlets about how concerned the United States is about the dire humanitarian state in Yemen and their calls for peace in the region.

These calls for peace and the “sincere” concerns are voiced by none less than the President of the United States Joe Biden and their Special Envoy to Yemen Lenderking.

It was just last year that Biden signed a multi-billion contract to arm Saudi Arabia and UAE. His predecessors, Donald Trump and Barack Obama, had signed respectively $100 bln arms contracts with Saudi Arabia for use in the Yemen war.

This degree of ignorance, manipulation, and hypocrisy is appalling to read.

Yemeni Foreign Minister in the Sanaa-based National Salvation Government (NSG), Hisham Sharaf, blasted Washington for ‘trying to evade its responsibilities’ as a party responsible in fueling the Saudi-led war and profiting from it.

Sharaf, a politician with spirited comments, is not a member of the Ansar Allah a.k.a. the Houthi movement.
